JUNEAU, Alaska —Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell said he won't implement the federal health-care overhaul after a judge in Florida struck down the law as unconstitutional.
It's not immediately clear what practical impact the unusual move would have on Alaskans, an estimated 14% of which are uninsured year-round. A major expansion of the federal law is still pending, and a legal expert and health-care consumer advocate say any refusal by the states to participate in the law is an invitation to the federal government to step in and implement it for them.

I hope more States push back like this. The Demo-cratic party forced this bill without reading it and are exempt from having to use it yet its okay to force the rest of the nation to eat it?

Did I say this loud enough? "THE DEMO-CRATIC PARTY DIDN'T READ IT AND ARE EXEMPT FROM IT!, INCLUDING IT'S MASTER, PRESIDENT HUSSEIN"

I keep seeing this, and every time I see it, I respond politely, with links, and that ends the thread. But I have a feeling it doesn't add a bit to the knowledge base. So, instead of doing the same thing, let me just say....

".... are exempt from having to use it ... " is a lie, a falsehood, a myth repeated and repeated again on right-wing talk radio and the equivalent shows on TV so often that people incapable of finding the facts for themselves simply roll over and believe it.

Did I say this loud enough? It ain't true.

Healthcare business news from Modern Healthcare (http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20110218/NEWS/302189959http: - broken link)

Sean Parnell made the right decision for Alaska. There are options available to the uninsured that don't seem to be in existence in most of the -48.

Boy, that 6 months of dim winter up there must've affected his brain. Either that, or he don't care about the less fortunate. It's probably the latter.

Exactly.
And Obamas credibility and power continues to plummet.

Actually neither you nor Obama can back that up. Thus the administration filed a plea with the judge who declared Obamacare null and void (lest it be successfully appealed) to force states to enact it. The judge either will or he won't, it is that simple.

I see. So you consider it OK and actually encourage state leaders to enforce laws ruled unconstitutional?
