Wow. I clicked the link expecting a socialist credo and what do I see?
8 pages, involving among other things, the following:
Full text of "In Flanders Fields".
Full text of "O Captain, my Captain."
Full text of "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy."
And a silly choral reading piece named "The preamble to the Constitution".
The latter has a few comments on each sentence in the preamble. Obviously, it's the one sentence on "general welfare" that has everybody's thongs in a slipknot. For context, here's the vile, subversive , socialist segment that precedes it - this is the one on "common defense":
Hmmm. It doesn't look like subversive propaganda.
Nor does this:
Horrible, isn't it? Or could it be - obviously a blue-sky thought - could it be that the perpetually enraged righties cherry-picked a quote to get worked up over?
Yep you talk about cherry-picking and you managed to leave this out of the 8 pages you cherry-picked from.
R7: People’s basic needs must be met in a country.
R5: Needs for housing, education, transportation, and health care are overseen by
our government system.
R6: Labor laws ensure that people work in safe environments and that they are
paid fairly for the work that they do.
Was that part of the whole thing or not? You did a normal job of just what you accuse others of doing.
I suppose that you failed to see the the R7 part. It is that part that so many progs think is there because of their learning from other progs.
I seem to have a low tolerance for willful stupidity today, because - seriously? That segment of the presentation has been covered all the way up in the OP. Do we really need to cover that ground again? Can't remember what you read 5 minutes ago?
Look at the context. OK, look up what context means, then look at the document.
Are those 8 pages the product of a socialist subversive? "Oo-rah!" is rebellious against the existing order in the US? "Flanders Fields" is intended to inspire the revolt of the Proletariat?
Of course it isn't. You know it, the idiots who penned the piece in The Blaze know it. You're hanging your outrage on one bloody sentence and I wish I could be surprised that it was the one to do with the "general welfare" clause, but I am beginning to think that you'd much prefer a Constitution that didn't bother with that pesky idea.
Not sure who you are replying to but I have no anger over this. It is not a liberal/socialist conspiracy. Authoritarians on both sides will by default present their agenda, it is nothing new.
I just noticed early on that most replies were judging the messenger and calling it a conspiracy. So after a couple minutes of digging I found the source document, yes it did say what was reported.
Now that it's is proven true the new defense will be to play it down and demonize those who are bothered by it. Typical left/right pep rally script.

You have such a strong desire to take that "general welfare" and make it say that the government has to provide all those things. That is purely progressive thinking so you need to be called a prog by me. Where in that whole thing do you see that the words mean all those things that they are teaching klds now?
Seriously, I wonder why you can't see that some very good things being taught along with the added parts makes that last part right. Of course, Denmark was very socialistic before any of these new ideas were thrown into out schools by progressives.
It was cited in the OP. Short-time memory problems?
Deflect. One of the favorite Alinsky tricks that progs like so well. It has been quoted over and over later and you fail to defend that crap but try to deflect and call names of other posters. Short-time memory surely is a problem for some old people but although I am old enough I don't suffer a lot from it yet.
Now lets see you defend those words about what "general welfare" means.
The part of the Blaze story I like is the following:
TCM sells ‘The Promise of America’ to thousands of school districts all across the country as well as over 100 countries around the world. Several phone calls to TCM, its‘ printing company Shell Education and New York City sales outlet Sussman Sales provided little specific data on just how many schools are currently using the ’Promise of America, ‘ but one company rep told The Blaze the “Fluency program is really really popular.”
... And the story lead was:
The Promise Of America Is. . . Socialism? That’s exactly what is being taught in many American public schools.
Bottom line. The Blaze doesn't know how many schools are using the material or how they are using it. But they won't let that get in the way of the their propaganda rant.
"Under the guise of teaching children to read, the seeds of Socialism are being planted within the minds of young children. Do you believe that the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States mandates the following?"
Actually he was an anarchist a voluntary socialist. How many government programs did he advocate, how often did he call for Caesar to help him force his beliefs on anyone?

BINGO! (and it even mentions that controversial issue that separates the progressives from the conservatives; i.e., Obama's Baby, "HealthCare!" This is what makes having the children CHANT this "interpretation" inserted within the Preamble to the Constitution nothing but OUTRAGEOUS PROPAGANDA that all our tax dollars are paying for.
Did anyone notice that this "teaching tool" is created by TEACHERS, for teachers. Any surprise there? They were instructed well in their NEA recommended reading, Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." I, also, recommend this book to be read by all conservatives. It is important to know what we are up against - and what methods are being used underhandedly by those we entrust our children to. It ain't pretty.
I am truly at a loss here. If anyone actually reading that document maintains it's a deliberate socialist indoctrination tool, I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree, and I'll leave you to your recreational outrage. Enjoy!
