It appears that alot of people on here hate Unions. So my question is, would you buy a vehicle made by the UAW? Or do you currently own one?

I own a Dodge Cummins pickup truck and I bought it despite the UAW and I didn't buy it new from a dealer. It's pretty hard to purchase an American made vehicle these days that isn't somehow touched by the UAW.

My Audi wasn't made by the UAW, but I'm pretty sure it was made by some name-unknown-to-me union in Germany. Not that I care; unions have exactly zero influence on my car purchases.

The UAW builds and sells cars?
I think you inadvertently pointed out a problem.
Union workers have more allegiance and pride in the union, than the actual company who pays them to produce it's goods.

I currently own one, a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. Except for the dexcool coolant eating away at the intake gasket ($700), theft deterant system not recognizing my keys ($400), AC control panel failing to keep the compressor running ($300), and warping brake rotors ($600) it's been a great car. (sarcasm)

Lightbulb This hatred of unions...

...by middle class Americans is difficult to understand.

Trade unions represent well-paid middle class workers. And they benefit those workers who aren't members, although not to the same extent. Nearly all of us now enjoy hard-won standards of employment achieved by unions, such as paid holidays, paid vacations, 5 day weeks of 40 hours with overtime pay for work beyond that.

It's easy to see why the wealthy hate them and will use their GOP servants to try to legislate them out of existence. We've already heard tea bag freshmen in congress mention such notions as child labor laws being unconstitutional.

But middle class working folk? They truly must only hate unions because they've been told to. They can have no rational argument against them.

They only call it class war when we fight back

.

Good point.
The company provides the job not the union. If the company fails lets see how the union helps all those unemployed workers.

Think about it.
