And why should it be a "plus" to 'smaller government' conservatives?

Ehhh...why in the hell is that a plus? If anything, that should be a crime. That's a strike AGAINST Reagan, not a brownie point.

To the OP.

Liberals are in tune with reality.

Liberals realize that an individual that is in the right will not necessarily be treated justly because it may inconvenience someone with money.

Liberals realize freedom is pointless if you can be held down by someone with money. Examples: overpriced rent, difficulty in obtaining student loans (without the government). Sure you may have freedom, but what is the point if you can't do anything because you don't have money?

Government is a necessary part to ensure the freedoms of one individual don't impede on the freedoms of another. When you take government out of the equation, you see one group of people walk all over another group. Pretty evident in the suppression of wages by the elites. Government is necessary to make it possible for all individuals to have an opportunity to grow to their full potential. Not just the elite class.

Reagan started that.

Thats why liberals hate Reagan.

Most of our debt has been accumulated thanks to the Reagan mentality. Cut taxes for the rich, pass on the debt to the next generation. So far no president since him has been willing to undo the damage.

That is not true. Please don't make false claims.

He is an American Icon regardless.

Could you imagine Reagan saying some of the things about America that obama says?

Now, being a nation of laws, I'm not saying that he didn't deserve to be impeached......

I call 'em like I see 'em.

Bill Clinton wasn't impeached because he had sex in the oval office, he was impeached because he lied under oath.

It's rarely the deed that gets people in trouble, it's usually the cover up.

Few people hate Reagan the man. What people hate is how the far right (all of a sudden) has picked Reagan to be their messiah, without even knowing anything about the man. Reagan would spit on the Tea Party.

Another untruth. The rich paid less in taxes, by percent, under Carter than they did under Reagan.

Some people dislike him because he gave weapons and money to a group of people who were connected with 9/11 terrorists.
