Dearborn— A seven-person jury on Friday will weigh whether a Quran-burning pastor can legally carry out plans that day to protest at the Islamic Center of America mosque.

This man and organization have a better understanding of freedom of speech than the judge.
Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services Director Hassan Jaber issued a statement backing Jones' right to protest — and residents' right to criticize him.
"At ACCESS, we work to empower people to become fully engaged members of their community," Jaber said.
"We cannot teach the U.S. Constitution in our citizenship classes while opposing First Amendment rights. So we support Mr. Jones' right to speak, but we do so with our own postscript: That his message of bigotry and hate does not resonate here."
Would one expect something different in Dearborn, Michigan? Sharia law is on the march. I think this pastor is an oxygen thief who willfully placed lives in danger in the middle east but this wouldn't happen in any other US city.
The question to be decided by the jury isn't whether or not he can mount his protest, but whether or not he'll have to post a bond to cover the cost of police protection in case violence breaks out.
Bonds are not at all uncommon for protest marches, but Jones refused to pay it and opted for a jury trial instead.

In other words, it's an issue of his own making.
The question is, it Jones doing anything violent? If he is making physical attacks, burning Mosques, etc, he should be shut down.
The supposition here is will his peaceful speach so incite members of the religion of peace that they will go on a violent rampage, correct? If that is the fear, those suspected of doing the violence should be the ones to have to pay a "peace bond". If Islamic Mosques are in some way inciting violence in their members, charge them for the police protection this incurs, and for any damage they cause.
Let me ask this. Should a black civil rights group planning a peaceful protest over KKK actions have to pay a "peace bond"? If not, why should Jones? The guy might be an azzhat, but that doesn't mean he should be silenced.
Sounds like the religion of peace is continuing on its path. Use, or threaten violence, and you will get your way and silence opposition.
