I am kind of shocked, that everybody thinks it was okay to kill Bin Laden. I'm definitely happy he is dead, and I have no compassion whatsoever for that murderer, but I am proud to live in America, which is a democratic country and not a nation of hitmen. Why wasn't he caught, tried and executed then?

We shouldn't sink as low as the terrorists, giving a person who has killed thousands of innocent americans a fair trial would have been a sign of greatness, just killing was revenge. I have to confess that it feels great to have gotten that revenge, but what feels good isn't always right.

What is the point of another Bush bash thread. We already know he (Bush) wasn't the brightest bulb out the bunch. Why continue to beat a dead horse?

All these threads are getting tired where is the forum Moderation?

It is what it is. People attribute too much to presidents. But the way our system works, the President gets the credit for the good and becomes the goat for the bad when things happen on their watch.

So for President Obama, he gets love for this news. But he has to take full blame for the bad economy, even though he has little to do with it.

Yes, the number of other Al Qaeda members (there was only ONE leader) out there is a fantastic reason to not be concerned about the actual leader of them all.

Burial at sea is within the laws of Islam for disposal of a body, burning isn't. As much as you and others might enjoy the notion of his body being desecrated, all that would do is incite even further anger, hatred and ultimately, terrorist acts. That's why.

No.

Bush started the job.

Bush abandoned the job, leaving bin Laden in Tora Bora to go off on his avenge mission in Iraq, then said he wasn't concerned about where bin Laden even was, let alone keeping him a priority.

Barack Obama spent months on end sussing out intelligence to locate bin Laden, positively identify him, studying the compound from every conceivable angle, having the SEALS repeatedly train in mock invasions until they were relatively certain they could carry out the mission successfully, then put the order in to carry it out.

The notion that George W. Bush deserves one iota of "credit" for locating, verifying, training, then completing the mission of actually getting Osama bin Laden is ridiculous.

This is not Obama's victory, it is a victory for the military and their incredible fortitude. The navy seals who went in to kill this monster are the victors. Obama was the recipient of excellent timing in terms of intelligence and strategic planning. He was the right president at the right time.

Absolutely spot-on. The Bush family has long-standing love for the Saudi "Royal Family," and they have close ties to the bin Laden construction empire. President Obama took a page from the Israeli book and got the job done quickly and cleanly...no villages destroyed, no soldiers killed. Kudos!

Default Anybody else LOL when you heard bin laden hid behind his wife's skirts?

Not really suprised though. Almost every radical dusty LBD I ever ran across changed his beliefs with an M4 muzzle aimed at his head.
Job well done.

You are right on.

Both Bush and Obama deserve some credit. The 'war' on terror has been going for quite a while now and will continue on. The establishment; the military and cia are what did this, and will continue to keep this country safe, no matter who is in the oval office.
