Yes, and removing corporate taxes (or even significantly lowering them) would go a long way toward creating new jobs in the USA.
Why would you think that? It hasn't helped stem the flow over the past few decades. Corporation make economic decisions, if you want them to hire American workers, you would have eliminate taxes AND pay them to hire, to make up for the difference in labor costs.

If we have a small VAT and small sales tax as our only taxes on businesses, it would free them up to hire more and invest more profits, which would allow them to put more people back to work. If more people are working it would increase demand for products.

You can do a few things about this. First, for my insurance company and telephone company, when I call customer service, I get someone overseas. All I have to do is to ask for someone stateside and they transfer me to someone in the US. I have expanded this now so that I won't use one legacy airline anymore and when I think about what computer to buy, I am going to make sure they do the same thing.

Not exactly. It depends on high it is. It has to be low enough to not discourage consuming, but high enough to bring enough revenue to run the government. The balance has to be right.
Scrapping the massive tax code that favors budget gimmicks and lawyers, and putting in place a broad tax code with low rates is the way to go.
I will have to agree that we need to repeal some of the ridiculous or redundant regulations. For example in IL there is the Structural Work Act which should have been superseded by OSHA but remains on the books. There is another that regulates insurance sales in cities over 5,000 meaning it applies in one but not an adjacent city. I'm sure other States are similar.
My stance on jobs going overseas is that there is too much regulation and corporate taxation in the US for it to be most profitable for businesses to remain here.
ASSUMING THAT THIS IS TRUE: Would you support lowering regulations and taxation if it meant that jobs would come back to the US?
I'm not looking for a debate on whether or not my assertion is true, I'm looking to see what people would think if that's what it took to bring the jobs back home.
There are only two choices in this new global world order.
1.) Lower our standards and income, to that of China, India and Indonesia.
or
2.) reinstall trade tariffs.
