If I took a 50% pay cut I'd end up needing government assistance for food, healthcare, and etc.

How would that be productive?

I don't have a job but assuming I get a job that's the median salary for my intended major... no!

The median salary is around $60,000.

So let's say I'd end up making $30,000. That is not a lot of money to live on in the DC area, certainly not enough to also put away for retirement. If I went to college and worked my ass off for four years and employers considered $60,000/year to be what my labor is worth, why should I have to take a pay cut because someone else chose a job/career that could be easily taken away?

That's what's happening to the airline industry.

Do you think CEOs would cut their salaries in half ?
It should be 30-40X vs.today's 600-700X, rather than % in your example above..

But if we cut salaries enough we will be able to compete with Zimbabwe and North Korea for those Slave Labor jobs. Isn't that the Koch/GOP Agenda

Ah, jealousy raises its ugly head again.

If you haven't worked for the gov't., you don't what you are talking about.

Bringing jobs back to the American people would increase wages for us. The whole reason they exported our jobs was for the cheap labor. Bringing them back would only be a plus for everyone.
