The SS fund is full of non-negotiable Treasuries. How do you cut debt ? How do you cut money you owe ?

WTG Republicans! I am so proud of these guys. They're finally living the gospel of fiscal conservatism they've preached for so long.

Good point. I wonder what the heck he meant by that.

On another note...

At the Twitter town hall, Obama argued for restoring tax rates on families making more than $250,000 a year to levels from the 1990s, noting that America at that time experienced a high rate of job growth and poverty reduction.
Nah, it has nothing to do with welfare reform that Clintoon signed (and now is slowly being unwound back to a monolithic welfare model), recovery cycle from the previous recession and the Nasdaq bubble combined does it?

He's full of garbage. He'll just come back and say hey I wanted to cut SS but those evil republicans wont agree to it.

"A congressional aide, close to the negotiations, said the only real talks going on are between Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, who are discussing "in good faith" a $4 to $5 trillion debt reduction package."

Good faith. LOL. I'll believe it when it's put in a bill nobody reads.

I think the Pres knows the GOP will not offer anything. Just laying the ground work for 14th Amendment action and more 2012 campaign talking points. ie. "The GOP still just works for the wealthy".
