If NASA does as much in the next 20 years as it did in the last NO.

IMO....Yes......

It's still a technological/national pride bragging claim.

And it won't necessarily be the United States alone either.......possibly a joint venture.

Yes, won't be any government program though. Private entity private mission.

No one has a right to make it to Mars until they can fix the sh*t that is wrong with the planet Earth first. We're too busy destroying this planet. Who really cares about making it to another one?

Space exploration is nonsense. We have $$$ for that yet we can't even put a small dent into our country's deficit. What a joke!

With the pittance of funding NASA gets, I doubt 2050 is too early. That being said, I too think that it won't be an American making it to mars first. Most of our budget is gonna go to Social Security, Medicare, and Offense (or Defense spending, if you're into Orwellian terms) spending.

Half the Offense budget could be shifted over to NASA, and the entire UN budget we donate to the UN as well to throw in some extra goodies. Plus let's admit it, NASA seriously needs reforms. They work way too slow, plus with the computer advancements being made at an even rapid pace (as technology progresses, each technological progression takes fewer time to advance than the previous generation) if NASA was reformed correctly and with an appropriate budget, humans could be on Mars before then.

NASA spinoffs, space benefits, space history, NASA space spinoffs, NASA technology products

In as few words as possible, it is worth it.

Never happen. Those days are long gone.

We as Americans no longer have the focus to accomplish such a feat, and without the US, (or perhaps because of the US) no other country on Earth can pull it off either.

Maybe Sarah Palin could build a bridge to Mars.

You asked the question and gave the answer at the same time.

We have to expand beyond this planet. Even if we don't destroy it, the population will outgrow it. We simply won't have the natural resources to survive.
