Its the way the Bible tells them to be. God's word is unwavering and there is no exception to it. Just because the rest of the world has decided that its ok to embrace homosexuality, loose women, loose morals, sex in the mainstream, dosnt mean that God now also supports those things/

You also have to consider the meaning of the word you are using. Conservative has a totaly diffrent meaning now than it did 50-75 years ago. What would be considered "conservative" now, would have just been the norm back then
Exactly, religion retards progress.

In some ways, yes, Jesus was a "progressive" for his time.
Appearing to a woman after resurrecting? Wow!

Jesus was a-political. He had no interest in politics or government other than what one must as a member of a society who wants to function within a given system. The essence of his message was about living a spiritual life on earth and instilling the "kingdom of Heaven" within the human heart.

That humans then take that message and twist it to build their own power structures atop the old ones, is a reflection of the imperfection of humans, not the one who originally delivered the message.

Hitler was heavily into the occult.
Christians can be "into the occult", also.

Jesus was socially conservative and fiscally liberal.

Maybe that's where you went wrong with your definition of "liberal". The RW has made a mockery of the term "personal responsibility".

Can't give you any more reps until I spread more around, but this post of yours is spot on. I really wish people would STOP trying to make Jesus a political figure.

Thanks. Jesus was only marginally interesting in anything political, realizing that humans are humans and political structures will evolve over time and the rest of us must deal with it. His message was one of spiritual liberty that establishes the "kingdom of Heaven" within the individual heart. Applying modern political terminology to his mission in life is as disingenuous as it gets.

The LW has made a mockery of the word "liberal" and is now doing the same thing to the word "progressive".
