THANK YOU for taking the risks and spending the capital to start a business.

THANK YOU for providing me with a product and/or service I need.

THANK YOU for giving me a job.

THANK YOU for paying me a decent salary.

THANK YOU for providing me and my family with generous health benefits.

THANK YOU for paying exorbitant taxes so me and my family can collect government benefits and services we neither need nor deserve.

THANK YOU for not laying me off despite the terrible economy.

THANK YOU for letting me work 40 hours/week and have nights/weekends off.

THANK YOU for working while I'm playing.

THANK YOU for accepting smaller profits rather than laying me off.

THANK YOU for giving me paid vacation days.

THANK YOU for paying money towards my retirement benefits.

THANK YOU for buying expensive goods and services, ensuring I still have a job.

See how it works? Instead of beating people over the head who make $250,000+ a year and calling them greedy for not wanting to part with more of their income.

This is the most idiotic thread I've ever read.

Anyway, "you're welcome".

I have never gotten that mindset. Reminds me of some toe-cringingly embarrassing episodes in high school, where people would agree with the popular kids (who treated them like crap) just to feel like they were running with the big dogs. But I guess we've found Joe the Plumber's username.

Small businesses comprise 99.9 percent of the 26.8 million U.S. businesses.

14.7 million are firms whose owners do not have outside employment and who have employees.

75 percent of small business reported revenues of less than $1,000,000. 22% of those revenues on average are taken home as profits. Therefore, if 75% of small businesses earn less than $1,000,000, 75% of small business owners would stay under the $250,000 income threshold.

Of the 25 percent with revenues in excess of $1,000,000, nearly a third file taxes as a corporation and would therefore not be subject to personal income taxes, or personal income tax increases.
National Small Business Association found that 13 percent of small and mid-sized businesses have personal incomes above $150,000 annually - "a lower percentage is likely above the $250,000 threshold."

So perhaps, we should that the millions of workers whose pay has not risen in a decade for tirelessly working for executives whose salaries have risen to a record ratio of 525 to 1.

We should thank the 14 million workers who were laid off despite record profits and shipping their jobs overseas for not storming the corporate palace with pitch forks because those making over $250,000 still have enough sense to pay taxes for unemployment benefits.

But just look at the amazing state of the US economy - obviously, US executives simply are better than, say, German ones. Who in their right mind would buy a German car, for instance?

Though many choose to live life on their knees, bowing and kissing the shoes of their masters, the rest of us are independents/democrats/libertarians
