The fact is most of these counties are as blue as the day is long...

Starr County has long been a strongly Democratic county but suffers from low voter turnout with only approximately 20% of its 53,000 residents voting. No Republican has won the county in over a century

Traditionally Democratic, Maverick County was one of the only counties in Texas where George McGovern received a majority of the vote.[26] The last Republican to carry the county was Herbert Hoover in 1928

On November 18, 2008 a Willacy County grand jury indicted a number of political figures, including Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez. Indictments have not yet been made public and a district judge still has to sign the indictments. Two state district judges were also indicted along with State Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr

While the state of Texas went strongly for Republican George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election, Dimmit County, a traditional stronghold of the Democratic Party, supported U.S. Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, with 2,365 votes for Kerry to 1,188 for Bush.

Hidalgo County tends to vote for the Democratic Party. Hidalgo County is represented by Ruben Hinojosa of Texas's 15th congressional district, and Henry Cuellar of Texas's 28th congressional district. In the 2008 presidential election, 69% of the voters voted for Barack Obama while 30% voted for John McCain.

Juan Cornejo of the Teamsters Union and The Political Association of Spanish-Speaking Organizations organized the Hispanic population among cannery workers and farm laborers of Crystal City in 1962–63 and succeeded in electing an all Latino city council. The feat became known as the Crystal City Revolts.[20][21] The Raza Unida Party was established in 1970 in Crystal City and Zavala County to bring greater self-determination among Tejanos.

With its heavy African American population, Madison Parish remains a stronghold of the Democratic Party. In the 2008 presidential election, the Democrat Barack Obama of Illinois received 3,100 votes (58.5 percent) in Madison Parish to 2,152 (40.6 percent) for the Republican nominee, John S. McCain of Arizona.

Black people voted overwhelming for McCain?

Actually, it doesn't really seem to matter what the race of the residents happens to be. They vote for Democrats regardless.

How about next time you do a little research before you make yourself look stupid.

Don't take my word for it. Click onto the links and see how the poorest and least educated Americans vote.

Another useless link.. Lowest "income" counties is useless, again, without a cost of living comparison.

The thread is not about race. Stop hijacking this thread.

If you want to bash minorities start your own thread.

Troll.

You specifically listed food stamps.

Are food stamps issued without regard to income?

You think their poor because they're educated?

Are college graduates typically on "food stamps"?

Obama had more votes. He sure did, and thanks to those who crawled out of the woodwork to vote for their Messiah. Then crawled right back in, after they found out that their cell phone bills, car payments, etc., well, he wasn't going to pay any of it - total misunderstanding on the part of whomever led them to believe that. And how did that get so ridiculous? Nature of the Obama voter?

Point is, Obama didn't necessarily have the most intelligent folks casting their vote for him, he sure had a lot of nut-jobs who couldn't add 2 + 2 on their fingers b/c they didn't know they could use their fingers to add 2+2.

Doing nothing in Los Angeles or NYC or San Fran pays more than doing nothing in Southern Texas? But living in a democratic state, no matter your lack of income (job) and education makes you smarter, gives you a higher life expectancy and lots of free food to eat?

Red areas also score low on human development scores
I find it hilarious the states with the highest development are the ones in the worst financial shape.

Yes pictures are worth 1,000 words:

high education, high life expectancy and bankruptcy
