Which state do you think will be the next to join the 21st century in allowing same sex couples to be legally bound together?

How sad that people need the blessing of a government agency to validate their feelings for one another.

Why is the state even involved in marriage of any sort to begin with. That should be what folks are asking.

I agree. No one should be able to get tax benefits because they are married.

I agree. Income taxes should be done away with entirely, for all.

Why is the state involved?

It's sort of a Tao thing...the yin of marriage...the yang of divorce.

How many religions have divorce as a sacrament?

There should be no tax benefit or penalty for being married. Everyone should be taxed as an individual. That INCLUDES children. Parents are responsible for paying the tax obligation for their kids until they are of working age and can pay their own taxes for being a U.S. citizen. THAT would stop people from breeding more kids than they can afford.
