There are so many women having children with different men, and many men having children with different women. Many of these children never know who their father's are. So you think that future generations will end up inbreeding with a half-brother/sister simply because they don't know they are related? Do you think this will cause an increase in birth defects? I'm curious what others think about this.

Not even a remotely infinitesimal problem overall. Don't let this keep you awake at night.

I'd say it's statistically unlikely, considering that it is believed that at one point the group of human ancestors that crossed the Bering Strait into Alaska dwindled as low as 20 people. If we survived that, I think we'll be fine now.

Only in Alabama maybe. If you really think about it, though, our origin was from interbreeding. This is assuming humanity sprang up from one geographic location on the planet and proceeded to spread from there. They had to interbreed to reproduce, no other way to go about it.

I worry more about these children being raised by very dumb mothers. The future generations seem to repeat the cycle, unfortunately.

I just found out that one of my ex girlfriends was my 5th cousin. Not too close but not far away enough for me
