No wonder they want to take our guns away, mainly semi-auto long guns.
Those intellectual elites in the city, fear the rednecks that can hit a dime at 500 yards, more so than a city slicker that can't hit a target at 30 yards with there 9mm.

The smart people will be probably be overcome when hoards of stupid people with guns attack them. Reason and logic will mean nothing when people with an education are attacked by Walmart greeters and Hooters waitresses and the people who stock the shelves at CVS!

Who needs guns? Just turn off Fox News, close WalMart and disband the NFL. Hicks everywhere will not be able to remember which minorities "really tick 'em off", or which of those darn politicians is "stealin' their America away", much less how to shoot.
Yes, my parents and grandparents lived in the country during the Great Depression and didn't suffer hardship in the ways city people did.
They also didn't have to shoot any marauding "liberals" or "city slickers" and if anyone came seeking help, they probably gave assistance as best they could to their fellow Americans.
That seemed to be the "mantra" of the rural areas during the Depression. I have heard that from my parents and my in-laws who lived on farms.

Not saying there are no welfare recipients in the rural states as there really isn't a lot of money floating around in them, like in the blue states. However, those are mainly the agricultural states and a lot of that "mooching" is in the form of ethanol subsidies and the CRP programs that go to farmers. (Both of which need some serious revision.) And if Social Security and Medicare payouts are included in those figures, that will also tilt the figures to make the red states appear to be moochers, as the rural population is definitely older than the city population. It's still true is that the young people who grow up in rural areas frequently leave for larger cities, as there just are not that many employment opportunities for them in the smaller towns.
