Rahm doesn't have anyone stopping him from getting the job done. He's done more in his 2 months in office than Daley has done in his entire career.

Hopefully he gets it soon enough and lays off 100x more than Emmanuel did.

That's the real issue with the budget.

Obama would rather dick-over 28 Million Americans than lay off 5,000 federal employees.

Yeah, this is the Politics forum, not the Chicago forum.

That's a lie, Daley has done more for Chicago than anyone else has.

As a Chicago native, I agree 100 percent. Even ardent conservatives who moved out to the burbs would agree.

Ah didn't Obama recently offer $4 TRILLION in cuts only to have the offer rebuked by the Republicans, or did that come to me in the form of a day dream?

$400 billion per year for 10 years but we have a $1.4 trillion per year deficit.
We're still short $1 trillion in cuts.

Besides, it's not like you can choose a recent Republican because there hasn't been one since 1931.

when it comes to the United States, that isn't true. We have the ability to create money by sacrificing our purchasing power. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
I understand how debt it monetized. I asked your perception. Was that stupid to attempt to engage a Progressive in a civil discussion on Obama's policies and not expect a personal attack in return? Likely so.

You therefore must admit that Obama is, by intentional design, driving this country into further debt in order to implement his agenda.

What I always find interesting about city and county government, is that they make a big show about laying people off to bridge the budget...while each one of those making over $150,000 a year, has a car lease, paid for by the city, with an $800 dollar amount monthly, with unlimited gas paid for, they have "business" lunches at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, on the city dime, allow themselves personal travel to go to "business" meetings held at Disney World, it is like..those things keep rolling...and no one says a word...

How does offering cuts that take effect 10 years down the road instead of immediately helpful to reducing the debt now? Obama pretends he can dictate budgets and debt ceilings for future administrations while simultaneously refusing to be bound by a debt ceiling or budget of his own. Obama's proposed cuts over 10 years won't even pay the interest on the debt.
