A Realist Party Member votes for term limits. It is the only thing that makes sense to the Realist. A Realist votes the incompetents out of office.

It worked. if congress had then controlled its spending, we could have done even more."

the statement made was if congress had then controlled its spending. The first tax cut was in 2001 and the next one was in 2003. Spending went through the roof starting in 2002. This comment doesn't even reflect the last democratic congress. Is says if we controlled spending after the tax cut in 2001 and 2003. Democrats didn't enter congress and become its majority until 2007. So what happened from 2003,2004,2005,2006?

From 2003-2005 there were only 48 democrats in the senate of the 100
from 2005-2007 there were only 44 democrats in the senate of the 100

the democrats had no majority and i don't remember hearing of any flibuster.

And forget about the house it was mostly republican.
.1) jobs 2)close loopholes................easy

So they lie to us and divide us. The oldest political game. Them against us. Well I am against all LIARS..........that all of those who have been in Washington very long. Those are the ones I hold responsible for GM,Chrysler,Freddie, Fannie, and almost all the drug trade and border violations. Those are the ones responsible for the indebtedness of the U.S.A. Those are the ones who need to pay. Why not file a law suit to cut off benefits to congressmen who were in office during the last 40 years. Freeze salaries in Government.
I so agree, and we aren't alone:

really? you blame republicans for jobs going overseas, yet clinton was the one the signed nafta, and it was a democrat controlled congress that ratified that treaty. and how about all the regulations that have been piled on business by the democrats over the years? as for fixing things, again bush tried 13 times during his tenure in office and was blocked every time by the likes of barney frank, chriss dodd, and barack obama. and if you think the frank-dodd financial reform law will do anything to fix the banks, you are sadly mistaken. all it does is put heavy pressure on the smaller banks, and will kill them off in time.

and if you want to help the middle class, you dont tax the rich to get there IT DOESNT WORK!!!!!! all you do is kill jobs because you are taxing the very people that create the jobs in the first place. and i am NOT talking about CEOs, but rather the small businessman who when tax time rolls around files on the federal 1040 tax form rather than teh corporate forms. as long as you scream about "the rich" screwing the rest of the country, and excoriate them for being successful, all that will happen is that the rich will sit on their money, and wait this time of uncertainty out. push the rich too hard though and you will find out that they will leave and take their money with them, and make other countries richer. corporations have been off shoring jobs for decades, and they have been moving their corporate headquarters off shore as well to avoid all the regulations and taxes that government is piling on them.

Trust funds?

Why are you looking at big business to fix anything for you?

When you've got 1st generation foreign-nationals, in 2011, working their tails off and living high on the hog.... the river of tears for the American born "middle class" dries up and quickly.

With all the opportunity to bend over and pick up the gold that the streets are paved with, who is crying a river? Those who want everything handed to them for doing what they set themselves up for: not much.

So the solution is to tax the hell out of those who don't wipe their arses with the tissues they use to wipe their tears with all day long?

Don't think so.

Well then explain to me:

why Republicans broke their campaign pledge of 2000 to provide to the American people a $5 trillion surplus by the end of 2010. That is a $12.7 trillion shift.

"The federal government has operated in the black for the last two years (1998-99) and is now projected to run a surplus of nearly $5 trillion over ten years. Reducing that debt is both a sound policy goal and a moral imperative. Our families and most states are required to balance their budgets; it is reasonable to assume the federal government should do the same."

This is from the 2008 Republican Platform, after we had 8 years of Republican rule in the White House and 6 years in Congress:

"The federal government collects $2.7 trillion a year from American families and businesses. That's $7.4 billion a day. Even worse, it spends over $3 trillion a year: $8.2 billion a day. Why? Largely because those who created this bloated government will not admit a single mistake or abolish a single program. With so many redundant, inefficient, and ineffective federal programs, it is no wonder that the American people have so little confidence in Washington to act effectively when federal action is really needed"

Do you want to know why the economy is in shambles? The Republicans tell you in one short sweet sentence.

"Today, our economy faces challenges due to high energy costs."

Its not taxes, its not the debt, its not the housing collapse, its energy costs.

And finally...the Republican Platform can blame itself...

"The last thing Americans need right now is tax hikes. On the federal level, Republicans lowered taxes in 2001 and 2003 in order to encourage economic growth, put more money in the pockets of every taxpayer, and make the system fairer. It worked. If Congress had then controlled its spending, we could have done even more."

HELLO...Republicans controlled both houses of Congress for 6 out of the last 8 years from 2000-2008.
Bush could have vetoed ANY budget, there would not have been a majority in Congress to override that veto from the democrats.
That's an easy one...

The median GDP per capita for the planet is $11,200 (2010 dollars).

Whenever you'll accept that is whenever we can move on...

Default Loopholes

Where Republicans have been disingenuous is when they claim that closing those loopholes, and lowering the tax rate will hurt business.
To many people and corporations pay little or no tax that's the Problem

Your plan is to take even more money from the people on the fence (a mass exodus) in an attempt to fix your incompetent president's policies...

The funny part isd 49% say they paid something on that bailout when they didn't.But lookig now I see alot of indivduals being bailed out just as the banks were.Does the Op think we need to stop bailout of individuals esepcailly with who pays unemployment and then taxpayer takeover. Its funy that mnay want to stop bailout to those who actaully pay 70% of the moeny used and want all loopholes stopped except for their own in taxing> But I agree we should stop taxig by the tax code and go to evryhting in compensation as to what a person pays in taxes.I would bet the subsidized health insurance compenstion being taxed as income for mnay would be objected to.That is the the start of subsidising individauls gets that is growing everyday and has caused the growth in defcit more than any other cause.
