Where's Bammers and the rest of the Democrat Party in laying the tax hammer on GE? All I keep hearing is tax the "rich" aka people who make $125,000 a year or more. Those are mostly your DOCTORS that will be hit with that tax increase. GE is sitting on such huge amounts of cash and none of it was taxed no wonder it's ex CEO is working in Obama's Cabinet

Actually they didnt need to hire an IRS to rewrite their tax code, they got a $3.2B credit in the Obama stimulus bill.

GE is a publicly traded company. I'm sure their books have been scrutinized by countless would-be investors as well as accountants.

Just because a company takes advantage of every tax break out there, has a very competent accounting staff *and* may qualify for legal government incentives which results in them paying little or no taxes, does not mean they are doing anything shady or wrong.

A friend of mine once told me that if any business pays taxes, then they need to get a new accountant, because a good one can find deductions for almost everything and anything. A good accountant will show a loss for the business every year even though they do make a profit. It's all about numbers.

I do not begrudge GE for having a good accounting team. In fact, I wish I knew who they were and could afford to hire them myself. LOL
