1. If the taxpayer is not supporting her vacations and other perks (aside from SS), fine. But we are.
2. It matters not what any other First Ladies have done, Dem or Repub. Because Americans are unemployed and strapped for money in so many ways right now.
We were not in the same financial situation when Clinton was president, nor when Bush Jr. was president.
So it is useless to say "Let her do what every other First Lady has done."
It is a slap in the face to working (or would-like-to-be-working Americans) to have to fund O and Mrs. O's excesses at this point in time.
They need to open their eyes and see what is going on in the country.
But ((hush)) we cannot criticize this particular president and his wife because they are black.

well I call BULL on the double standard people seem to have with this presidency. you and other posters like to site your trouble with these vacations on our poor economy. Like if the economy was good you wouldn't care in the least. yeah right. like it or not a POTUS and his family spending time and money doing what most of can't afford in good or bad times is a fact. the most powerful man in the free word and his family has perks, deserved or not, appreciated or not, that the rest of us don't have.
the cost is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions and trillions we waste in other areas. put the outrage where it belongs. this thread is more about just not liking mrs obama or her husband.

Mr. President has brought out the race card in full force and essentially given permission to lay waste any crucial dialogue. Ivory Tower presumes a pathetic innocence. May he remain instead forever inside the black lagoon of his tortuous mind.
Are you for real? Since when is she paid anything as first lady? For all that matters she can be on vaca for 365 days of the year.... It was her husband who has the job and is being paid by tax payers.
before you go down the path he has taken too many vaca days... look at the records of who took the most...BUsh reagan and Bush set the records w jr spending more than 1 1/3 year of his time on vaca...
It was carter and Clinton that took the fewest.... See a trend there?
All first ladies have done this....all of them. She is not employed at the moment so maybe she is always on vacation, who gives a crap.
I dont like the politics of her or her husband, but I dont hate them...Nor do I need to dig up crap to hate them.
