He needs a Carville to whip him into shape. Gary Johnson might be a better libertarian republican from the sell-able point of view.
Libertarians, for market advocates, are horrible at marketing themselves.

Ron Paul can't be dishonest. Carville would insist that he lie to people to appeal to a wider base.

With "eight's enough" on the stage there has to be a sound byte allotment. 30 seconds with rebuttals, applause outbreaks, and bantering, make it a trail mix of a debate. Several of them actually surprised me.

Newt: He probably left everyone in the room with raised opinions -- for good or bad. I have to say he has a memory like a steel trap.
Pawlenty: pretty forgetable and probably lost ground.
Huntsman: Every answer was preceded with touting how he's running on his record. It got stale quick.
Bachmann: She managed to stay afloat with the hammering, proof that the female is an open game.
Cain: Had some of the most memorable quips of the night.
Romney: Just another wealthy old school politician, who has the # one slot only because he's the best chance to win, though probably not the best candidate.
Santorum: He's one guy that should get a little more play, but once again, he was noticeably ignored last night. He was also the only one told to wait for his turn at rebuttal after running long a few seconds.

Ron Paul... I'm torn. If he could put his thoughts into words, a little better, and modify his foreign policy (or complete lack of one) a bit, then he'd be dangerous. He's right to say "Finally! The main stream is using my platform to run on." The problem is they are platform hacks. I hope the FED is seeing the writing on the wall, as they rush to disinfect/cook their books. Polls are saying Paul may have won the debate -- we'll know tomorrow.

Ron Paul is for the most part devoid of charisma.

The Republican establishment is who decides the candidate, not the people. This is precisely what occurred with Nixon, Reagan, and the two Bushes. People like McCain and Dole are chosen to be losers because they know a Republican presidency in certain times is not politically convenient. I believe Obama is a one-term president, the way he seems to have no real "control". When now according to Democrats it is the Tea Party that runs the country. We will see Romney win primaries one way or another. Based on what they have seen already, the Republicans already know how this process works. It is only the idealists or uninformed young people who still think other candidates have a chance.

Unfortunately, I agree. Maybe we are jaded, but only from experience. They've already started saying it'll most likely be a Romney/Perry ticket. IF this comes to pass, then we'll know we were allowed to vote for them. I don't care who gets in really, as long as they address the FED problem, remove Bernanke and Geitner, reign in the spending, SHRINK the GOVERNMENT, and make us Constitution bound again.

Well as it turned out, those that were polled thought Ron Paul creamed everyone in the debate last night. Just go to the "Elections" section of Politics and get all the details. Not only that but he beat the pants off of all the others in the first ever IOWA on-line Straw Poll by taking 44% of the votes with the "BIG FRONT-RUNNER" Mitt Romney only managing to scrape together the same number of votes as Pawlenty -- a pawltry 5% each.

So maybe this year SUBSTANCE is what matters. "Charisma" plus 50 cents buys you half a cup of dishwater tasting coffee.

Both average Democrats and Republicans have figured out the status quo candidates are big fat liars and want honesty for a change. They get that with Ron Paul. Maybe, no matter how hard the media tried to pretend it isn't happening, Ron Paul is doing so well.

Juan Williams, one of the FEW honest reporters out there thinks we are living in the age of Ron Paul. Look how he convinces his Neo-con colleagues they might be wrong in "The Five Show"

Default Ron Paul on FBN's Gerri Willis show today

Discussing the depriciation of our currency:

Ron Paul "I Think The Feds Real Goal Is To Depreciate The Currency" - YouTube

This is a topic which should have been discussed at the FOX Iowa GOP "debate". It seems as though none of the other candidates even want to discuss our monetary policy.

Ron Paul killed that debate! The Fox News Poll also agree with that...

1. Ron Paul with 16k votes
2. Gingrich with 5k votes

That's a huge margin!
