The Arabic-language network Al-Jazeera released a full transcript Monday of the most recent videotape from Osama bin Laden in which the head of al Qaeda said his group's goal is to force America into bankruptcy.

Pretty much this.

Because of US's dismal blood-for-blood response to 9/11, we lost much more than we did on the day of 9/11.

Bscially we can only go by results.thye results are that their have been many attempts at more attcks but they have failed. Even lookigat the world prior to 9-11 there are not has many attacks which we failed to believe could come to our front door like it did on 9-11.we are a reactive society has are most and some have started to beleive that it can happen again already or that it just a coincidence we haven't been hit again.Or that the changes we see in Egypt;libya and Syria are not connected to our actions at all or that Killig Bi Laudin or saddam would have been possible without our military actions.

9 -- Arab Spring
8 -- Rebalance of Asia
7 -- Stagnation of the developed world's economies
6 -- Facebook
5 -- Smartphones
4 -- 2008 Market crash
3 -- Eurozone crisis and Euro crash of 2011 and 2012
2 -- Global warming
1 -- China becomes the world's #1 superpower
I can see a few of those, but... Facebook? It may have changed social networking, but it hasn't had nearly the completely global impact that 9/11 and it's subsequent events have. I also think that the economic crisis is in part part of the 9/11 result. Same with the Arab Spring, etc. You can connect 9/11 to so many different things going on now if you trace it back.

I do not see the relevance or importance of trading oil in US dollars. What would happen to us if oil was traded in other currencies or in Gold? What would happen to the rest of the world? Please explain why this is worth billions of those dollars and thousands of lives.

The creation of the TSA is perhaps the most significant remaining consequence of 9/11. And in spite of its bloated inefficiency, its utter worthlessness, its incredible cost, and the massive ill-feeling it has engendered among people from all walks of life, TSA is the type of government "job program" that many otherwise sane Americans claim to want the President to propose to Congress next week.

America the clueless -- where we all all walk shoeless, mooing, into a chamber for a cursory MRI so that our genitals can be assessed for threat, where compressed air is blown through our clothing, and where the lucky few are treated to full body searches. All for the noble puprose of providing a false if metaphorical sense of security, while offering full employment to the obese, the intrusive, and the politically reliable.

Half the electorate wants this travesty extended into our society as a whole. The other half thinks Barney Rubble flew around on a triceratops...

Frank Rich- Ten Years After September 11 -- The 9/11 Decade -- New York Magazine

Yeah, b/c Saddam would have been left to his kicking out of inspectors, keeping his rape rooms, his "I don't have no weapons of mass destruction"...while the Kurd's died from...? How many UN resolutions did that idiot defy/not comply with? Openly? For how long? While the UN did nothing?

The democrats started their "home ownership for everyone" program- even if people couldn't afford it, well before 2001. Back in the Jimmy Carter "waiting on line for gas" days.

Barry was even part of the libs who threatened banks and made them give crap mortgages to those who couldn't afford a car payment on a 20 year old car, let alone a house payment.

9/11 and the "aftermath" just brought years and years of liberal BS to light.

Every country who buys oil has to hold us currency in reserve.
