Oh the humanity!! There needs to be an increase in food stamps, Section 8 and more free stuff for the "poor".

Modern Poverty Includes A.C. and an Xbox - By Ken McIntyre - The Corner - National Review Online

Quote:
What is poverty? Americans might well be surprised to learn from other government data that the overwhelming majority of those defined as “poor” by the Census Bureau were well-housed and adequately fed even in the recession year 2009. About 4 percent of them did temporarily become homeless.

Data from the Department of Energy and other agencies show that the average poor family, as defined by Census officials:

● Lives in a home that is in good repair, not crowded, and equipped with air conditioning, clothes washer and dryer, and cable or satellite TV service.

● Prepares meals in a kitchen with a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave as well as oven and stove.

● Enjoys two color TVs, a DVD player, VCR and — if children are there — an Xbox, PlayStation, or other video game system.

● Had enough money in the past year to meet essential needs, including adequate food and medical care.

Poverty in America also includes government subsidized housing, government subsidized health care, government subsidized primary education, a government subsidized cell phone, and subsidized cable TV.

We also have the richest rich in the world. What is the point of such a stupid argument? I mean really...............it's not the poor with AC and an Xbox and cell phones or hell even the overpaid lazy government employees Im worried about. It's the plutocracy.............the oligarchs that represent 1% of the population owning and controlling most of the wealth and natural resources..............wha wha wha............whine whine whine..............who cares if the poor have Xboxes and a French manicure..........the rich own entire islands and millions of acres of land. What do you expect......all the poor in America should be living in grass huts taking a shower under cow **** and lighting fires with goat crap? Gimme a break! The average American is the village idiot...........hence why we will probably be stuck with Obama for another 4 years or worse a Palin, Romney, or Bachman.

Needs to be a means testing..this is truly ridiculous.

Bucking the dem/liberal mantra of taking care of the "poor" is difficult.

In Illinois, a bipartisan bill, signed by Quinn, was apparently "overturned" by a federal obama bureaucrat because the bill called for Medicaid recipients to prove both residency and income.

How can an obama bureaucrat overrule a state's legislature and Gov?

Totally ridiculous...but we know if these people were required to prove their eligibility, many would drop right off..because they aren't really poor.

American taxpayers subsidize the poor, not the rich.
Get with the program and stop the envy whine.
