That protester is correct. Debt does equal slavery in places where you can pledge yourself and your family as collateral. Although we do not allow using people as collateral we do effectively imprison people to a lifetime of wages to pay a mortgage or student loan. That is the effective equivalent to slavery. The restrictions on bankruptcy for student loans drives home the coercive and corrosive effect of debt.
Our entire financial system is designed to place everyone in debt to a bank of some kind. This applies from a consumer with a credit card to our entire nation to China. If everyone actually lived within their current income and took out no loans this system would collapse because there would be nowhere to invest (loan against profits) the savings.
We are being robbed by the financiers and always have been. Foreclosing on people and property has been the primary means the thieves have used to create and maintain the great fortunes.

LOL...ok...I'll rephrase it....The people that I know personally that are TB supporters and the one rally I attended gave me that impression...is that better?

How does voluntary accumulation of debt equal slavery?
Ummm, you don't have to invest savings in banks. In fact very few people do.
I'm a Tea Party supporter, I've got a lot better things to do with my life than waste it taking pictures of idiots.
Besides that, all we want is a smaller federal government that is under control and you guys call us all crazy for it... while your own Wall Street protestors are getting beaten down and maced by an out of control gov. police force. Seems a bit odd doesn't it?
I remain quite puzzled as to why the Dems have such inordinate fear of the Tea Party.
The Tea Partiers like myself are aware that the only real protest that works is the one you make at the ballot box, we aren't wasting our time protesting in the streets where it clearly does nothing.
I like how you qualified your statement, "Tea Partiers like myself". Of course that doesn't explain the thousands of Teabaggers who appeared before TV cameras protesting the government that propelled the movement into prominence. But now that you have an opportunity to protest in front of the focus of your derision, corporate domination of politics and the bailouts... where is the Tea Party???

Would those "plans" include shutting the money teat off to farm subsidys, corporations and banks as well or just the poor, retired, sick and needy within our borders?

I didn't qualify anything like you're suggesting, I simply said "Tea Partiers like myself" since I haven't run into the elusive Tea Party members that the loony left claims are everywhere. Like I said earlier, the Tea Party has quickly come to realize that our power is much better used when it's focused on the ballot box. Media attention of a protest isn't going to fix Wall Street, having some people arrested and maced isn't going to fix Wall Street, sleeping in a park isn't going to fix Wall Street.
Maybe the Tea Party members are just smarter than the idiots on the left who believe they're making a difference.
