What about OUR oil?

There is no OUR oil. It is for sale to the highest bidder.

American oil companies are not prohibited from selling oil to growing nations, are they?

So....Rush Limbaugh would move to Thailand with a handful of erection pills based on the "free-market" sex trade along with his peers? All in principle?

If so, good riddance........

"The purpose of this thread isn't to bash the rich"

OK Mr. Ovcatto. If you say it isn't, then it must be true.
If reading comprehension isn't your forte, let me explain the point that was brought up by the OP.

In a world of where "Born in the U.S.A" playing with R. Regan in the backdrop; where "country" is first. (community, neighborhood, local, county, state..) There is a few people who own and control a large degree of our "country" by means of political favors of legislation that how can they ever be genuinely invested in our country. It raises a serious focal point on the state of affairs.

See....?

what does being rich have to do with patriotism??

the fact that you brought them up in the first place suggests otherwise.

actually, thats a lie. of the top 20 political figures listed, half are democrats. furthermore, the majority of dems inherited their wealth, whereas republicans actually worked for their wealth:

1. Rep. Michael McCaul, (R-TX) - $294.21 million (wife's parents:Clear Channel)
2. Darrell Issa (R-CA) - $220.4 million (Directed Electronics)
3. Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) - $193 million (Wife's first husband)
4. Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) - $81.63 million (trusts)
5. Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) - $76.3 million (Nextel)
6. Rep. Jared Polis, (D-CO) - $65.91 million (dotcoms/internet commerce)
7. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) - $55 million (wife)
8. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) - $52.93 million (wife)
9. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) - $45.39 million (investments)
10. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) - $44.21 million (auto dealerships)
11. Rep. Jim Renacci (R-Ohio) - $35.87 million (investments)
12. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) - $35.2 million (husband)
13. Rep. Rick Berg (R-N.D.) - $21.6 million (real estate)
14. Rep. Bob Corker (R-TN) - $21.18 million (real estate)
15. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ) - $20.35 million (family trusts)
16. Sen. James Risch (R-ID) - $19.78 million (farms)
17. Rep. Gary Miller (R-Cali.) - $17.45 million (real estate)
18. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo) - $17 million (husband)
19. Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Tex) $16.45 million (properties in texas?)
20. Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) - $15.46 million (IRAs and funds)

of the 10 democrats listed, 7 of them did nothing to earn their wealth, whereas the vast majority of republicans worked for their money.

the point is, wealth seems to be evenly distributed, but the left loves to blame the right by saying they hold most of the wealth in the usa. this couldnt be farther from the truth.

ps - im neither d or r. both parties are acting like children right now.

Well, there are a lot of "suckers" in my generation. Of course, we're the ones who actually sing the National Anthem, knows flag etiquette, and remove our headwear when Old Glory passes. I really feel sorry for those of you who think patriotism is tied to wealth, and that the ability to move freely and quickly from one continent to another diminishes the love of ones own country.
I have no dislike of Patriotism, but the things about how you have to remove your hat or whatever, that's ridiculous. It's a meaningless gesture, unless you want it to be one. It in and of itself means nothing. It doesn't make you a bigger patriot, and it doesn't make the person who leaves their hat on any less of one...

Our kids have been bred out of their patriotism, but thankfully some still retain it.

Not long ago, some liberal think-tank or idiot libs independently? were caught speaking about the problems with having kids at parades that had flags, military in uniform, etc. They actually lamented that it made the kids likely to be patriotic and they said it in a bad way.

Dangme, I've got to find that report about it, again. It was very telling, but not about kids, parades or Patriotism.

Was very telling about the *******s.
Do you think it's patriotic to regularly and consistently demean your fellow Americans?

Well when you don't think your fellow Americans are in fact actual Americans it comes fairly easily.
