Besides the Arian Nation or the KKK, which white people ever refer to themselves, in a public venue, as white-Americans?
Do we hear endlessly about how we must set aside special attention for white-American music, white-American culture, white-American food, white-American scholastic studies, white-American TV shows, white-American colleges, special considerations for testing result, hiring practices, and ratio of employees to accommodate white-Americans?Or do we just lump all of this special time for appreciation and reflection for white-American history month?
No, we don't, because it's already done automatically.
There is NO reason to identify yourself as white on ANY application. All that does is ensure that you are eliminated from all the programs to give special preferences to others.
they are still not african. I am of scottish american origin. I dont use the words european american or scottish american. I am just an american.
I know 5 africans in my personal life, 1 is a white african and the other 4 are black africans, and they are all real african americans as they were all born in Africa.

After reading innumerable threads and comments regarding racial self-identification, lack of assimilation, and screeds about multiculturalism I thought to myself why is it that I've never read a thread or comment advocating the ending of the classification referred to as white? I mean if African American is so offensive because of its alleged inaccuracy then why not do a way with the term white, after all, white people are exactly white or anything close to it. So, in the hopes of bringing about that much touted color blind society, I would like to make the following offer.
Do away with the idea or whiteness and I will stop identifying myself as an African American and ask others to do the same.
What do you think?
As long as you consider yourself to be something other than just plain "American", you always will be. You have chosen to separate yourself from the mainstream by indentifying yourself as something other than "American".
I believe that the problem is in the space between your two ears and not in the perception of society or the nation. Grow up. Be an individual and stop using rationalizations for any short comings in life.

You know darn well that YOU (and others like you) do not look at (White) Americans the same way that you look at and treat (African) Americans or (Asian) Americans or (Hispanic) Americans.
The number of "Why do Black people...?" threads on this forum should be enough to silence the nonsense of "White" Americans asking African Americans to drop the "African".
So here is the proposal....if we drop the "African" from African American will you stop discriminating against us based on the amount of melanin in our skin? Will "Americans" all over the United States of America be able to drive while being "melanin-enhanced" Americans? Will the term "interracial" marriage disappear? Will "melanin-deficient" Americans suddenly have no issue with hiring "melanin-enhanced" Americans? Will "melanin-deficient" Americans no longer have an issue with "melanin-enhanced" Americans moving in to the house next door and their son dating their melanin-deficient" daughter?

Why not. In Texas Whites are the minority now but not officially..called "majority-minority" a new term for what reason..I have no idea.

That's illegal. So is putting your DOB, familial status and your religion.
I could careless about any of that. What I want to know is if you'll do the job. Will you be hostile to the environment, your references and your qualifications.
