The *next* venue this group approaches for a speech will think twice.

Think "chilling effect on free speech."
No company wants its employees to be the first beheaded in the name of Sharia "blasphemy" laws.

Oddly enough I don't recall Christians ever making such threats against other groups and hotels. Ahhhhhhhh....the religion of peace by the end of the sword strikes again.

I wouldn't want anyone controversial and hateful hosting an event at my hotel either.

It's probably expensive to hire security with the capability to keep suicide bombers out.

Actually, this is called Marketing 101.

I live near Sugar Land (I am in Houston). Where this event was taking place has a heavy concentration of Muslims. There are extremely popular Charter schools in the area that are run by Turkish Muslims. Mosques abound on that side of town.

Having this event would have been a P.R. disaster not only for Hyatt, but the entire city of Sugar Land. Most of us here suspect Hyatt had no idea who they were booking before hand. Had they known, they would never have done so.

Is Hyatt still owned by the Pritzker family, big Obama supporters?

Thomas J. Pritzker
Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors

To ensure Ms. Penny will always know she has a place to lay her sweet little head. Or give it... whatever.

They should have done their homework instead of cancelling the event the night it was scheduled. I guess you can make excuses for dhimmification if it makes you feel better.

Default Loon

This website won't let me give you a direct Rep Point (again) so I'll just express my appreciation for pointing out that this Geller creature is a Loon.

Thank You.

This is a repeat thread.

Pam Geller is an evil crackpot - the worst kind, because people (as is evident in this thread) fall for her hook, line, and sinker. She should never have been offered space in the first place.

The First Amendment doesn't apply to private entities.

Hyatt can cancel any obnoxious speaker they like. It's a business decision.
