True. But why hate him for being rich. However he made it, he made it, and I'm sure what he has created, has benefited you in some way.

Today, I am worth over $20 million. Screw the hippies camping out and protesting AMERICA. I am a "a 1% ter'. To hell with the lazy bums who did not sacrifice and work as hard as I did. Choices in life have consequences- go to hell.

I did not become successful by camping out with dirtbags who are supported by daddy's money and complaining. You should have made better decisions in life, particularly when you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You are the dregs of the US and an embarrassment to the principles of a work ethic. Get a job, you bums.

Signed- A "1% ter" who did not have nearly the opportunities you lazy and ingracious dead beats had.
What do you do? How did you earn your money?

I cleaned dairy barns in high school and college and came home covered in liquid sh*t for four summers in a row. I smelled like cow sh*t in college for two months until the smell removed itself from the fat in my skin. I sold pot to spoiled brats for income in high school and college- partly for money and partly to take down spoiled brats who were blowing thier golden opportunity. I have no tolerance for bums and am infuriated by these well heeled jerks who are sitting there on daddy's money. You know what would have happened to me in a similar circumstance? I would have starved, as I had no one to support my food or shelter, except for me. These burgoise "communists" (who are just spoiled brats) can go to hell. Working people cannot afford to do this idiotic stuff. This is the luxury of spoiled rich brats. Let them freeze- they will go home to daddy soon enough. I did not have that luxury.

Life can be very good for those who work hard and look on the bright side.

PS- I am lying. I checked my Vanguard account today and the total value of my Brazilian assets and it about $25 million, not $ 20 million.
This guy's so full of crap he could fertilize all of Asia for a decade.

He puts ALL his $25 MILLION in Brazilian assets??????

Even Brazilians wouldn't do that.

If you believe one word this guy says, I've got a Brazilian "asset" to see ya', real cheap.

You might want to try rereading that last sentence. The one that starts out with "P.S."

Hard work is up to perspective. My partner is very much part of the 1%. He makes about 1.2 million a year. He worked and studied very hard to get to where he is in life. He said that all through his 20s and 30s he spent 80 hours a week either studying or working (mostly both). He has no children and we live a relatively lavish lifestyle. His parents financed all of his undergraduate and graduate degrees.

My family on the other hand.......My grandmother had to raise EIGHT children on her own after their father ran off to be with a stripper. throughout her 40s and early 50s she was working 120 hours a week as a maid and hotel service assistant. She lived on approximately 4 hours of sleep a night. Her children were neglected in a sense because she was always working and couldn't make them go to school and such. By the time her oldest (including my mother) should have been moving out they were were already pregnant and the dads were running off. She then had to help take care of the grandchildren.

This grandmother of mine is now in her late 60s and fully falls under the definition of impoverished. Whats makes it worse is that she refuses to live with any of her children and so she lives in a shack in the boon docks of Kentucky.

So the Republican ideology that hard work can pay off and that anyone who works hard can be upper class in this nation? B**LS**T!. You could work every damn day in your life until your legs are wanting to fall off and you could still be dirt poor. Luck has too much to play in this game of life.

My grandmother could not give her family money, but gosh was she beautiful, and she passed those looks onto all of her descendants. I am also part of the 1%, because I sleep with it every night. I didn't have to do a thing to get it except be good looking. Another aspect of how luck can play into this game.

Perfect examples of how every success story has at least a little bit of luck, most of the time a lot of luck, in it. Why won't most successful people admit that luck is part of the equation?

Add to it the advent of a computer in every home and suddenly everyone (for emphasis) was a day trader...

Also, firms that once only had a local presence could now market worldwide for the cost of a website...

Not everyone has the desire and drive to be wealthy... we have always had very wealthy people...

Warren Buffet was wealthy 30 years ago... so was Trump and the CEO of GE, Ford, General Motors, etc...

I don't see things as being all bad... just look at how many millionaires E-Bay has created?

Forbes has been tracking the wealthy 400 for at least 30 years and one thing that is evident is the list is dynamic...

Also... the chart starts on the cusp of the worst recession in America since the Great Depression... things were pretty grim around 1980 when we hit bottom.
If you are saying that the wealth concentration over the last 30 years are ordinary workers who did well on their 401Ks and did day trading, that's just false.

Nobody took the relatively meager amount of 401k contributions and became a billionaire.

Yes, "Warren Buffet was wealthy 30 years ago... so was Trump and the CEO of GE, Ford, General Motors, etc..." but all of those people's incomes have outpaced everyone else by hundreds of percent. That's the point.
