If you're going to use that reasoning...zoning is likewise stealing (zoning redistributes income upward from renters to owners - Thomas Sowell, Markets and Minorities, Chapter 7) and zoning is wrong.

So why do you support some forms of stealing but not others?

I propose every American pay $100 tax plus a flat rate on all disposable income.

What flaw do you find with that?

All I can give you is anecdotal evidence:

I rent a room in an an older, small, crowded, poorly insulated, house with four other people. (I did not know any of these people when I moved in; it was the cheapest place I could afford when the last house I lived in was foreclosed and everyone had to move.) I live with drunks, druggies, and bums (who have no jobs and love to party at all hours since they never have to get up in the morning and go to work) and have had stuff of value ripped off on several occasions. Because the house is small, every bedroom is next to, directly above, or directly below the living room, and it's noisy as heck and there is no place in the house where peace and quiet can be had.

I hate it hate it hate it but I don't have enough money to move to a better place.

That's just one example of what's wrong with people sharing living accommodations.

But your doing what you have to do to get by. IF you can , why cant others. Being poor is supposed to suck. Thats the biggest incentive not to be.

It appears taxes are driving you crazy. Don't allow that to happen. Move to an isolated rural area with no paved roads, no water, sewer, or trash collection. A low density population with few children and no nearby schools. No police and no fire dept.

You can be happy there. The "theft" will be minimized.

Actualy prop taxes in those areas can be higher as there are far fewer people to spread the costs among.

I own properrty in an area like that. The taxes are a small fraction of what I pay on my city property. Like about 15%.

Signing and sticking with pledges is a sign of a follower and not a leader. A leader would say I will let my record speak for itself. Some of those followers were lead right inside a box and are trapped by the threat of getting a challenge for their seat. Trapped like rats.

In reality there is the opposition, for every person that agrees with you there are 2 that don't. {see forum}. For anything to be agreed upon in that environment there has to be some give and take, some horse trading. The pledgers of course are out of the loop.
