lol.
Yes, it was a no knock. Investigation of the incident is still in progress but it's pointing to bad intel from a CI (read that as self-serving).

It's tragic this happened, both for the veteran and the officers involved. Killing an innocent person regardless of the circumstances that led up to it is not an easy thing to live with.

The problem in this instance is not the SWAT cops (They don't develop their own raids. They are tasked to perform them). It's the ease of obtaining a no knock warrant, the casual employment of those warrants, and the poor vetting of information obtained from CIs.

There are plenty of reasons to be furious at the events that transpired but those that choose to focus their anger on the SWAT officers without looking for the root of the problem are doing little to prevent future similar incidents.

I say a no-knock should be carried out on members of that SWAT team.

It's just easier to say all cops are evil and want to take away your Second Amendment rights. Come on, get with it, outbacknv!!

Would someone please explain to me why a swat team is needed to execute a search warrant?

They went with the intent to kill and simply did what they wanted. If your search is lawful you need not bring an arsenal with you. a knock at the door would have been sufficient. These nazis destroyed this family with no consideration for anyone.

If one of these swat officers were in their home, asleep and they thought someone was breaking in do you think they would not have grabbed a gun to protect their family? This Marine was of the same training and they presented him with a no win situation. I would terminate the superior officer as well as those that fired. The city needs to get their check book out and I hope it costs them dearly, as NO amount of money can fix the harm done.

That would seem to be the case.

Depends on the circumstances of the CI's intel. Maybe they thought the intended target was dangerous.

Dead cops = more freedom.

Cops are nothing more than the revenue raising arm of corrupt governments that pass unconstitutional laws.

Blah blah blah scant evidence of drug trafficking....blah blah blah guy had an AR-15 in his home. This is the actual scenario gun fetishists ruin their bedsheets over. Dude had a legal firearm and brandished it in suspicion of an attack on his family by a paramilitary force.

The quandary for the CD braintrust is how do you reconcile this with your preconceived notions. On the one hand, the deceased was a legit War Hero Troop™ working a real job providing for his family, who were likely good Christians. Probably went to church every week too. On the other hand, the Police, who are good guys when they're beating hippies and other assorted people we don't want moving into our neighborhoods or voting, correctly executed a force maneuver to subdue a suspect, who may or may not have broken the law at some point, though no actual arrests nor charges have ever been made after years of investigations.

What say you, fellow patriots?
lol

Exactly what the OWS thinks. Except you have to add the corporate fascists, too.
