My God is that lame! Santa Clara? Hell, i'd never go to a sporting event that far out. The new stadium should've been right where the old one is.
I now live pretty close to Santa Clara, and there are a TON of Niner fans here in the South Bay. That being said, I am a bit sad about the move... as a former San Franciscan, there's something very wrong about the Niners being in Santa Clara. It will be a gorgeous stadium, though, and I doubt the ticket sales will drop as a result. Not to mention, it'll be nice to have public transportation as an option! Candlestick is in the worst place for that (public transit), as I know having lived a few blocks away for years - and driving around there on game day is an absolute nightmare.
Between the two power outages at the Steelers/49ers game and the earthquake at the baseball game maybe someone is sending a message to San Francisco?
That we live in an area which is prone to earthquakes and high winds? Or that Candlestick Park is an old stadium?
Seriously, you're acting like no other cities have experienced power outages and natural disasters... interestingly, the "Bible Belt" seems to experience the MOST natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, etc) overall. Hmmmmm.

Florida is BY FAR the most catastrophe prone state in the union....I never thought of them as the "bible belt" unless that is some sort of belt that keeps your pants above your bellybutton while you go out for the senior earlybird special.
I know, huh? World class cities shouldn't have POWER OUTAGES!!! I mean, it's not like NYC or Chicago ever have those........ right?
Well I certainly agree, however, it was rather embarrassing to have a blackout during a nationally televised Monday night game.
