It is not a cliche, it is i the message of Christ. Both loving your neighbor, and shunning sin are repeated dozens of times in the Bible. Mamatha Gandhi joined both in six words: love the sinner, hate the sin. It is exactly what Jesus taught.
When did I claim that Jesus sat down with lesbians? He came here to save the sinners, did He not? Every man and woman is a sinner until they allow Christ to save them, so he did indeed come here for the sinner. He loves them, as stated in John 3:16 which summs up His mission and the motivation for the mission.
Except with over 2 billion Christians and over 35,000 different Christian denominations, what constitutes sin is subjective. Whether you want to believe it or not, reading an English translation back by Conservative Bible publishers seeking a profit does not equal the inerrant, perfect "Word of God". Every time you read a verse out of the Bible, your personal experiences, personality, education, conscience, etc. etc. are interpreting that verse. And not everyone reads those verses the same.
True, but God has also said not to judge. What they do has nothing to do with you, or anyone else.
