Fair enough. I don't really think the Democrats are much better. Both sides are run by obstructionist a-holes who would gladly run this country into a wall if it saves their egos.

nice try, do you recall the gop talking points when Obama was going to let the bush tax cuts expire? Wasn't the grand old party's chant that that was a tax increase? Now you are calling it "reverting to what it was" LOL, you boys are a laugh riot.

Ya think?

With that, Boehner and the publicans in the house have given Obama a nice campaign feather that he can trot out to show that he'll fight for the middle class. Horrible miscalculation on Boehner's part.
Two months from now is closer to election day than today is. The concession was all planned in advance. You guys just got snookered and you don't even realize it yet.

It's not a victory for Obama.

Both sides are playing games where the only winner is them and the losers are the American public.

And Obama and the Dem Congress totally CAVED on those Bush cuts.
They got extended into the Obama cuts along with that payroll cut.

And one year later are we financially better off as a country ?
No but we are definitely deeper in the hole of debt.

Actually, I am deeply troubled by the failure to solve the simplest major problem that we have, the long-term future of Social Security. The silly payroll tax cut gimmick did NOT work, it would not have been a "catastrophe" if it went away, and it is the first destructive step toward disconnecting Social Security benefits from the costs we pay in to it. Instead of leadership, we got posturing. The president's own Simpson Bowles Commission provided the both the blueprint and political cover to get on with the fixes that are needed; too bad the president ran away from the commission report as fast as he could.

I don't despise the President; he wears very nice empty suits.

The republicans passed a 12 month extension. The Senate wanted two months. Surely you realize that.

Um.. the gop wanted 12 months, just like Obama. It was the Democrats that only passed 2 months

what tax cut are you referring to? the social security tax break, social security is almost bankrupt and now the democrats are putting less money into the fund because of the so called tax cut. where are they going to get money to pay you when you retire! that's not a tax cut! that is being irresponsible!!!!! thank you mr. president for being such an idiot!!!

My taxes were not cut. Social Security was dug deeper into the insolvency hole, and I should thank Obama why?
