It's debatable if suicide rates are any higher for military than non-military citizens.

The following graph shows suicide rates for DOD personnel and suicide rates for non-DOD matched for age, sex, and race.

America post 1945 was full of hope and vitality.

America post 2000 is full of doom and stupidity.

I think GOD has something to do with that. Christian people believed they would go to HELL if they committed suicide.

The survival rate for wounded vets is much higher today than it was in WWII. Chances are some of those WWII vets would have had some type of depression or PTSD if they lived.

Also, vets are being prescribed dangerous and addictive prescription pills to deal with depression and PTSD. These nasty pills are known to increase suicidal tendencies when first taken.

Marijuana is known to cure PTSD, but I suppose the collusion between Government and Pharmaceuticals is too strong, like many other industries. SMDH.

Because that's going to help the military from blowing their brains out?

This is very true. I've been seeing a similar situation with a friend who was in the Navy recently. He wasn't exposed to combat but was put on all kinds of prescriptions for PTSD regardless. He's pretty messed up now. Guy had no mental illness history until he was put on these drugs. A month ago, he was arrested for going completely off his rocker. He kept spewing nonsense about combustion engines and all kinds of stuff. It was really strange and unlike him at all.

If military veterans with Post traumatic stress disorder were not allowed to own weapons, and thus their suicide rate was reduced, why would you be against that?
