Yes, our acceptance of the welfare state has done damage to the American work ethic.

Of course, when your PPP is already at or near the top, upward mobility of the general populace becomes more difficult since their parents, on average, started at a higher level than the parents of the current European worker.

It is quite easy for anybody in America to climb the social ladder. Millions do it every year. So you should be asking why people don't take advantage of the opportunities they have. They are there.
Maybe they can't afford them
Another aspect might be the spectrum of high-school quality. While there are great high schools in the US, too, there are also a lot of really bad ones. In Europe the extremes are a lot less extreme. People just wouldn't accept a crappy school for their kids. We are an aging and in many regions shrinking continent, we can't afford to write off an entire generation or minority...

Oh stop calling yourself dumb, you are so hard on yourself. I know its hard to come to the conclusion that this country is in decline. Fortunately i am way over this point. Yes of course median is higher over here. Its because corporations barely pay taxes. In Europe they do.

If that's really true, why in America does "the little guy" they get nearly $15 in federal government services and benefits for every $1 in federal taxes paid?

Figure 9 (page 33), here: http://www.taxfoundation.org/files/wp1.pdf (broken link)

Looks more like America bends over backwards to give mass quantities of freebies to the little guy, and TAKES A LOT of money from the rich while giving them significantly less (only $0.32 for every $1 in federal taxes paid) federal government services and benefits in return. America LOVES the poor. That's why America enables and encourages them to breed beyond all reasonable proportion.

To the OP:

You seem to post a great number of threads about the United States. It seems that perhaps you have some type of strange paranoia or obsession with it.

The European Union has FAR MORE than its fair share of problems to deal with currently. Perhaps you should focus your efforts on dealing with yourselves first, and then you can worry about others. You seem to have ample time on your hands, so get to it.

Please take your trolling antics elsewhere.
I'm not trolling. I guess pointing out valid facts you consider trolling. Yes the EU has problems they are just not as severe as in America. And in conclusion, I don't think it's any of your business for what I have time for.

And exactly how do you propose to create 3 times the opportunities for their 3 times higher birth rate?

Yes we give some to the little guy. However in the wrong way. Give a man fish and you feed him for the day, teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Education is the solution for this problem.

Give them Education instead of welfare. And if they refuse cancel their welfare. I think that's how they do it in Germany.

Aren't you European???

A post you made on 30 December 2011:

"As a European to watch this, is very disturbing." (Post # 150 on the thread entitled, "Why do Conservatives hate Europe?" from right here in the Politics and Other Controversies section.)

Mixing things up are we? So, it's obvious that you're lying that you're American. What else are you lying about?

You're a troll, just trying to stir things up.

Like I stated previously, please take your trolling antics elsewhere.

I'd appreciate if a mod would delete this troll please.
