I´ve seen in Swedish news lately that the republicans are making some strange regulations regarding peoples right to vote mostly in states where a few more votes can make the difference needed..

google translated:
_________

"The Republicans make it harder for minorities to vote"...

After the 2010 congressional also more than a dozen Republican-controlled state government introduced new rules designed to minimize minority voter turnout. The rules is that short period of advance voting, making it harder for voters to register and requiring them to acquire state-issued identification card. Previously, it has usually been enough to show driver's license, bank or pension documents to prove their identity at the polling station. In Florida, the state Assembly passed a law that prohibits voting on the Sunday before the election, traditionally a day that the blacks tend to use for church attendance to vote. Texas accepts arms licenses as identification, while the students' ID cards are not good enough.

Another event that looks like a thought is that in most of the states that have adopted restrictions on the voting rules were very even end 2008th These include, in addition to Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. A study at New York University Law School estimates that the new rules will make it difficult or impossible for some five million voters to vote, many minority voters.

Republicans argue that the measures are necessary to reduce the possibility of voting fraud. But it's a bogus argument because the vote cheating now rarely occurs. The real reason was articulated again by Paul Weyrich, one of the Republican Right's portal figures for the elections in 1980 stated, "I do not want everyone to go and vote. Our chances of winning increase, frankly, if turnout is reduced. "In other words, as minorities, young and poor tend to vote Democratic, you have to put up barriers to their participation in elections.

It is an irony of history that the Republicans once formed to combat slavery while the Democrats long defended discrimination against the blacks, including methods to prevent their ability to vote.

To me it sounds amazing making laws that makes it harder to vote, and USA trying to be the no1 democracy accepting regulations like this sounds weird to me. Sounds more like news from Russia.
There must be some facts im missing, right?

Funny that our government has shown that they cannot regulate anything correctly.
The abuse, corruption and lack of any oversight is evident from the SEC to the FDA to the EPA.

Yet when it comes to voting they can regulate so well that they are "supressing" people's rights.

I have to laugh at this.

Someone once said, the only way for Яepublicans to win is to restrict the rights of voting citizens or steal the election outright like their cousins the
Яussians.

Obey the damn laws and stop complaining. If blacks can't get out to vote on election day, then oh well.

Just yesterday you were claiming to be a Republican

Did you even read the OP and find the numerous errors in it? For example, they are discussing how Florida doesnt vote on Sundays to cut down on black voters who vote after Church, as if whites dont go to church or something. Furthermore, I think all states vote on Tuesdays, not Sunday.

Why is it people only care about voter suppression, fraud and abuse every 4 years for the Presidential election? All other elections, including the local ones which effect people directly, are "eh..don't care".
