And whose to say the events of American troops being in their land did not give them cause to join one of these groups?
I suspect there will be more of these incidents as morale and discipline break down. That's what happens when an armed force begins to realize that they are not there to fight and win a war but to serve some political agenda. So the killing they do has no purpose and the dying they do is meaningless. At that point men of arms get jaded and disillusioned with the way the politicians are using them. They cease to care about the rules and express their disgust in disgusting ways. Viet Nam should have taught us that.

That it may have. That still doesn't give them a "free pass" from getting shot! You point or fire at me "camel jockey"...you better be ready to DIE like the man you are. The only difference is my M-16 A3 or M-4 will go 300 Meters with ease. Your AK-47 7.62X39mm or AK-74 5.45X39mm will function properly. It just has a handicap on accuracy. Bang...gotcha!

Except unless that m16 happens to be spotless it will often jam. Not so with an ak 47 . And so if arab forces landed on us soil under the warm welcome of the president and they shot and american citizen pointing a gun at them they would be just as justified you are saying?
