WTF??? Do you know even how to do a search?
How do you even dare defend the Iranian regime given the facts:

Iran has attacked many, many times. The Iranian proxy armies are financed, trained, militarily supplied, and directed by the mullahs. They are part of the Islamic Republic's military forces just as the Republican Guards are:
- The Islamic Republic created Hezbollah. Republican Guards are embedded within its ranks. Hezbollah is Iran. This Iranian proxy has attacked Israel many times, including starting a major war in 2006. It has showerd Israel's cities and towns with Iranian-supplied missiles.

-Ditto for Hamas. It could not exist without Iran financing and weapons.

Arrest warrants have been issued by Interpol for high Iranian government officials, including the Defense Minister, for committing terrorist attacks which killed hundreds of civilians.

A peace-loving, innocent Islamic Republic of Iran???
The radical regime that controls Iran is a cancer in the Middle East. It props up the most terrorist, anti-peace forces in the area. From Assad to Hamas to Hezbullah to Al Sadr. Until that tumor is removed there can be no peace.

I've supported my reply with many sources, and there are many more simple Google searches).

Here's my suggested response; pull a couple or three SR71 Blackbirds out of retirement in various museums re-fit them then secretly fly them to Ramstein or some other base in range then have them fly the entire length of Iran at 500' in full afterburner, Mach 111 window busting mode; dropping leaflets all the way perhaps even make a display of them outrunning Iranian ground to air stuff.

Then Obama can phone Ad-man-a-jabby and ask " how'd ya like the air show? Wanna see it again?

I gotta admit, this is pretty funny.
It's the United States that makes itself the laughing stock. I don't agree with Ron Paul on everything, but he's right on the money when he says we ought to just chill out and negotiate with other nations instead of threatening them.

There goes that FALSE Reagan-strong, Obama-weak meme. Another one blown up.

Both Iran and Syria were behind it through Hezbollah.

Weinberger was the one who aborted the mission due to possibly damaging U.S. relations with other Arab states. We were, after all, at the height of the Cold War and were working with them to help bring down the Soviet Union.

Hostages taken at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran

Bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut
Reagan administration officials said that the attack was carried out by Hezbollah operatives, a Lebanese militant Islamic group whose anti-U.S. sentiments were sparked in part by the revolution in Iran. The Hezbollah operatives who carried out the attack on the embassy reportedly were receiving financial and logistical support from both Iran and Syria.
Bombing of Marine barracks in Beirut
In his September 2001 FRONTLINE interview, Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger said the U.S. still lacks "actual knowledge of who did the bombing" of the Marine barracks. But it suspected Hezbollah, believed to be supported in part by Iran and Syria.
Bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait

The American embassy in Kuwait was bombed in a series of attacks whose targets also included the French embassy, the control tower at the airport, the country's main oil refinery, and a residential area for employees of the American corporation Raytheon. Six people were killed, including a suicide truck bomber, and more than 80 others were injured. The suspects were thought to be members of Al Dawa, or "The Call," an Iranian-backed group and one of the principal Shiite groups operating against Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
CIA Station Chief William Buckley kidnapped

U.S. officials believed that the Iranian-backed Hezbollah was behind most of the kidnappings and the Reagan administration devised a covert plan. Iran was desperately running out of military supplies in its war with Iraq, but Congress had banned the sale of American arms to countries like Iran that sponsored terrorism. Reagan was advised that a bargain could be struck -- secret arms sales to Iran, hostages back to the U.S.
In August 1985, the first consignment of arms to Iran was sent -- 100 anti-tank missiles provided by Israel; another 408 were sent the following month. As a result of the deal, American hostage Benjamin Weir was released from captivity; he had been imprisoned for 495 days. Only two other hostages were released as a result of the arms-for-hostages deal: in July 1986, Martin Jenco, a Catholic priest, was released; and the administrator of the American University of Beirut's medical school, David Jacobson, was released in November 1986.
Hijacking of Kuwait Airways Flight 221

On the sixth day of the drama, Iranian security forces stormed the plane and released the remaining hostages. Iran arrested the hijackers, saying they would be brought to trail. But the trial never took place, and the hijackers were allowed to leave the country. There was no U.S. military response. The State Department announced a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of those involved in the hijacking. Later press reports linked Hezbollah's Imad Mughniyah to the hijackings.
Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103

Pan Am Flight 103 from London to New York exploded over the small town of Lockerbie, Scotland. All 259 people on board were killed, along with 11 on the ground. According to the State Department's "Patterns of Global Terrorism, 1991," released in April 1992, the bombing of Pan Am 103 "was an action authorized by the Libyan Government." Though there were reports that Syria and Iran also played significant roles in the attack, U.S. officials were never able to tie the two countries to the bombing.

Yeah, it seems like only yesterday that the Iranians were outfitting the Canadians with chemical weapons in the Canadia-US war. Oh wait, that was us supplying the Iraqis.

And all those secret infiltrations into the US regime and flying into US airspace with drones. Wait, that's the US going into Iran again.

Or the constant threats that they're going to come in and strategically bomb our reactors so we can't build nuclear power plants. Oh wait, that's us again.

Or how they shot down one of our passenger planes. Whoops, us once more.

On and on it goes.

You can live on your knees or die on your feet. Your choice.

At some point you folks will figure out that the entire U.S. economy is based on oil. Then, at some point, you'll figure out that if you "let them be" you'll be effectively giving control of your country to Iran, Russia and China along with the 'stans and all the other MENA states.

If you don't mind telling your children you like living on your knees because it's so much easier than dying on your feet have at it.

There's only one pledge the U.S. president takes when he takes the oath for office and it goes like this...

Quote:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
What would you do if your intelligence told you allowing these countries to "live and let live" effectively gives them control of your country?

The US Troops in Beirut were there as part of a UN peacekeeping mission. Yes, Reagan withdrew them. It was Hezbollah which attacked the Marine barracks; while they may have been aided by Iran, what would be the logical choice -- engage willy-nilly against unknown radical militants, plow into Iran, or remove the troops?

Along with this, there was still the last vestiges of the Cold War -- what would an aggressive move against Iran have meant for us as it shared a border with the former Soviet Union?
