http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Famine_(Ireland)
Quote:
During the famine approximately 1 million people died and a million more emigrated from Ireland,[3] causing the island's population to fall by between 20% and 25%.[4] The proximate cause of famine was a potato disease commonly known as potato blight.[5] Although blight ravaged potato crops throughout Europe during the 1840s, the impact and human cost in Ireland – where one-third of the population was entirely dependent on the potato for food – was exacerbated by a host of political, social and economic factors which remain the subject of historical debate.
What is there left to debate?

1983
Quote:
Close to 8 million people became famine victims during the drought of 1984, and over 1 million died.[citation needed] In the same year (October 23[23][24]), a BBC news crew was the first to document the famine, with Michael Buerk describing "a biblical famine in the 20th Century" and "the closest thing to hell on Earth".
Quote:
The great famine of 1983–5 is often ascribed to drought, and while climatic causes and consequences certainly played a part in the tragedy, it has been shown that widespread drought occurred only some months after the famine was under way.[5] The famines that struck Ethiopia between 1961 and 1985, and in particular the one of 1983–5, were in large part created by government policies, specifically the set of counter-insurgency strategies employed and so-called 'social transformation' in non-insurgent areas.
North Korean famine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Estimates state that, from a population of approximately 22 million, between 900,000 and 3.5 million people died from starvation or hunger-related illnesses, with the deaths peaking in 1997.

World News: North Korea, U.S. to meet in Beijing next week to finalize food aid - thestar.com
Quote:
The U.S. says it has offered 217,724 tonnes of food, to be delivered in monthly shipments and targeted at young children and pregnant women. The last handouts ended abruptly in 2009 when North Korea expelled U.S. food monitors.

North Korea, which suffers chronic food shortages and endured a famine in the 1990s that killed hundreds of thousands of people, requested the assistance more than a year ago.

The United States denies the humanitarian aid is being granted to the North in return for its nuclear concessions that could now open the way for multinational talks.
US shouldn't deny it.

An entire nation is held hostage by a nuclear penis like Kim Jong IL who would just assume watch his nation die of starvation to preserve his retarded military drama rather than investment in life sustaining agriculture and reasonable family planning.

Life is cheap. Sell your entire country into slavery to cover the note on your nuclear penis. They'll only make more slaves for you if you force them into 20 children per head. Maximize the production of your animal farm putting them in 2x2 pens and accuse the starving of being greedy & disloyal for wanting to eat more than twice a week. Indeed, it's all HER fault when she has to choose between feeding her children, her husband, or her parents. Kill the cook. Dinner solved.

Oh, so you already know what happens to any fool cornering an Irish Catholic female in a dark alley?

NO...pornography and prostitution are anathema to feminists, who work to
stop the exploitation of young women. Yes, plenty of young women work in strip clubs and massage parlors, but they either have low self-esteem or aren't bright enough to have a "regular" career. It's true that lesbians often work in films and as escorts, but they aren't feminists either. The sex industry is massive, pays well for a bit and often involves drug addiction. No woman who truly desires equality would degrade herself in such ways.

When are we ever going to see a criminalization of parents who would raise their daughter that way? Not just their daughter either. Raising a son to be a wh*remonger- or priming them into crime and alcoholism? There's enough tragedy to go around for both genders afflicted with sociopath parents of both genders. Doing legal/ social/ religious end runs around the moral compass of womankind is an act of self destruction. They can't wonder why they're living in a cesspool.

I once dated a man whose 5 year-old daughter wanted to be a Las Vegas showgirl: Guess who was pregnant at 18? Clearly Susan Faludi was right,
and it's a terrible backlash that we're seeing when toddlers are sexualized for "beauty pageants," when a lecherous old man like Limbaugh can use vile epithets against a young woman and when men kill their wives and SOs with such frequency. We need to step up sex education and require
high school students to pass a class in parenting skills before graduation.
There's a woman here who prostituted herself when she was young, and when her husband divorced her (for infidelity) and she fell on hard times, she sent her two daughters out to make money that way themselves. A mother like that should be jailed. Nothing will happen to change things until older women regroup and educate both girls and young women to walk with dignity and not strut their stuff. Bodies and faces age, and women who value their looks and not their minds and characters end up
homeless on the streets because they pandered to males instead of learning independence and pride in their achievements. The same applies to men, who are 50% of a couple but expect to do nothing to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, because it's 100% the responsibility of the female to do that. Bologna! I was very appreciative of President Obama's speech regarding the need for men to step up to the plate and be good parents, good role models. Our young girls should want to be as gracile and lady-like as the Duchess of Cambridge, and not want to resemble plastic, inflatable sex aids like Pam Anderson.

Prostitutes would be flat broke if not for the very attention you've lavished on them. Punishing the rest of womankind for your nasty habits doesn't fly with me. I support the rights of sex workers to be armed to the teeth and take out the trash for civilization. That might very well mean half of your local legislature. If Aileen Wuornos were a man she'd be given a medal for taking out the trash 7 times at little to no cost to taxpayers. But because she's a woman driven out of her mind with a lifelong history of vacillating brands of abuse and neglect competing with the police departments one eyed law enforcement, she gets the death penalty.
Besides all of your grandiose platitudes, I don't own but three strip clubs and every woman there sought out the positions they hold there and are extremely happy to make as much as $1,000 a night. Some go to school and others probably blow it all on drugs. No matter what they choose, it's their choice and they do it willingly.

That flips your sex slave theory on its head and raises you by the very definition of feminism.

Check mate.

Or they do what they want to and that's to strip. Why is that some of you feminist think only your idea of being happy is the right one? That's the very freaking antithesis of empowerment.
