Well I guess up next they will have to find a way to force children to eat this healthy food that the shools are bing forced to put up for them to look at. Obamacare to the rescue I'm sure. Or maybe threaten to have Meechelle visit. That should scare the daylights outta em.

"At the lunch table, most students gnaw the chicken to the bone, but many veggies and festive applesauce cups end up untouched and destined for the garbage can.

This year, Lake County schoolchildren will throw away about $75,000 worth of uneaten fruits and vegetables, the result of a local rule intended to help them eat more healthful foods."

New federal rule means school kids must load up on fruits and veggies - OrlandoSentinel.com

Reading comprehension is fundamental, folks. If you want to argue, take the time to understand what you're arguing about.

From the link:

"This year, Lake County schoolchildren will throw away about $75,000 worth of uneaten fruits and vegetables, the result of a local rule intended to help them eat more healthful foods."

Did you get that? A LOCAL RULE adopted by the Lake County schools, not the new federal rules.

"Lake got ahead of the curve by starting the fruits-and-veggies rule before the new federal mandate was finalized."

Every conclusion in that article regarding the impact of the new federal rules is CONJECTURE. It's the Sentinel's OPINION and their opinion only. The paper is guilty of one of most horrendous crimes a news outlet can be guilty of: editorial opinion disguised as "news."

And, y'all fell for it.

Hmm I didn't mention anything about federal rules, state rules etc. I said FOOD RULES. Perhaps in your haste to defend your leader you jumped the gun a bit. LOL

Any financially astute restaurant owner will monitor the trash cans. Why? Because it is the best guage for portion control, menu appeal, and shrinkage.

When can we expect government to get on board with being as fiscally prudent as the private sector?

You said NEW food rules. Since we just had a couple of threads about the new FDA rules, what do you think your headline implies? Not only that, but you mentioned Obama and "Meechelle" in your text.

Kids have been throwing their lunches away for hundreds of years. BFD.

Oh, and you are aware of the difference between local school requirements and federal requirements? And that Barack Obama is the president of the United States and not the superintendent of the local school district?

Yeah, right if you say so. This started under Obama, before him it was unheard of. You are probably going to claim that food fights occur in schools.
