That was assuming that taking from the rich is a static environment where it will affect their investment rates not at all.

I don't agree with that premise and I'm not alone in that assumption.

you two are making the erroneous assumption that increasing taxes will increase revenues to the government, and that congress will use those revenues to reduce the deficit rather than spend the money on new programs.

Republicans, the vast majority of whom are not wealthy seem to believe that they are wealthy in waiting and want to assure themselves of the advantages the rich have once their wait is over. Yes, they have been thouroughly brainwashed.

we are talking about increasing tax RATES, not tax revenue. increase the rates, and people stop investing, and doing the things that create revenue, and thus tax revenues go DOWN.
