An educated person knows that teachers unions are made up by teachers. No teachers, guess what, no teachers union. This post is a clear example of the hostility towards education.
Some of the unions have been clearly hijacked by cronyism, corruption and political interest. Some have not.
Just because some neo-con rails against all of them....doesn't make them, or you right.
FYI are you even remotely aware of Rahm Emanuels attempted reforms in Chicago with relation to failing schools? Hows the teachers union working with him?
The AFT is governed by its elected officers and by delegates to the union’s biennial convention, which sets union policy. Elected leaders are Randi Weingarten, president; Lorretta Johnson, secretary-treasurer; Francine Lawrence, executive vice president; and a 43-member executive council.
First things first. That is how teacher unions see things.
What do teachers unions have to do with labeling todays students as loser slackers? What do teachers unions have to do with suggesting that the Devil controls the schools?
The current motto of the Republicans' seems to be "just say NO to the GOP and all other remenants of rationality".
+1...Only the brainwashed, the ultra greedy business person, and the fundamentalist Christian are in line with the modern GOP. They need to
sit down and rethink some of their platform because right now they are a cluster ****...

Put the responsibility where it belongs, on each State.
I agree...education is a states rights issue, not a federal issue.

+1...it is a societal issue, not a format or system issue, although I must state that I am not a fan of no child left behind. We shouldn't accomodate to the lowest common denominator...
The OP's remarks are not about teachers unions, the Department of Education, or anything of that ilk. It's about conservatives, like Santorum, being anti-education because supposedly the "Father of Lies" works through the "pride of smart people."
LET'S BURN SMART PEOPLE AT THE STAKE!!!!! GET YOUR PITCHFORKS, EVERYONE!!!!! THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY IS ECONOMY OF LUCIFER!!!!!!
