Some of the unions have been clearly hijacked by cronyism, corruption and political interest. Some have not.

Just because some neo-con rails against all of them....doesn't make them, or you right.

FYI are you even remotely aware of Rahm Emanuels attempted reforms in Chicago with relation to failing schools? Hows the teachers union working with him?

Since you'll probably not answer my questions directly I'll go ahead and help you out.

Let's take the AFT for example, it's the first one that comes up in Google.

AFT - A Union of Professionals - About Page

Quote:
The AFT is governed by its elected officers and by delegates to the union’s biennial convention, which sets union policy. Elected leaders are Randi Weingarten, president; Lorretta Johnson, secretary-treasurer; Francine Lawrence, executive vice president; and a 43-member executive council.
Who is president Randi Weingarten?

Randi Weingarten - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She's a career labor union leader with an income over half a million dollars a year.

We all know what a mess NCLB created yet in the 10 years of existence why hasn't the teacher's union taken any action ON BEHALF of their teachers ?

And now with RTT and teacher evalution based on student passing rates I hear nothing from teacher unions ?

Exactly what are teacher unions protecting besides their salary and benefits ?
Why don't they bother with curriculum and education standards ?

Or Teachers getting more leeway in disciplining kids w/o repercussions? I know.

NCLB (for all its faults) exposed some ugly truths.

I would LOVE for the OP to show me proof of a teacher's union doing anything to actually improve our education system or helping our students.

What do teachers unions have to do with labeling todays students as loser slackers? What do teachers unions have to do with suggesting that the Devil controls the schools?

Put the responsibility where it belongs, on each State.
I agree...education is a states rights issue, not a federal issue.

The OP's remarks are not about teachers unions, the Department of Education, or anything of that ilk. It's about conservatives, like Santorum, being anti-education because supposedly the "Father of Lies" works through the "pride of smart people."

Santorum: Satan is Systematically Destroying America - YouTube

LET'S BURN SMART PEOPLE AT THE STAKE!!!!! GET YOUR PITCHFORKS, EVERYONE!!!!! THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY IS ECONOMY OF LUCIFER!!!!!!
