The whole faux gas price outrage that's going around now is from the right wing propaganda machine. They are doing absolutely everything they possible can to try and bash Obama. The economy is improving so they can't go there, they tried the "Obama hates religion!" crap and that backfired, now the whole faux gas prices issue

Today I am retired and collecting SS and today I am paying 11% of my weekly income for 20 gal of gas.( I still don't like it)

When gas goes to $5.00 a gallon I will be paying 13% of my weekly income for gas the same as I was in 1973.

Anybody else make any comparisons?
Now do the same for 10yrs ago, 5 years ago.

Republicans are worried about high gas prices because of how it will affect all the low income families and the poor. I find that hilarious because when have Republicans ever cared about the poor. If you're worried about the poor, let Bush's tax cuts on those earning more than $250,000 expire and cut taxes on those making less than that even more.

So it was also a propaganda machine when the left used it against Bush?

Republicans not caring about the poor is a left-wing myth.

And there were two across the board tax cuts passed during the Bush era.

If gas was $.25 in 1971 that would make it $1.40 in 2012.

If it was $.50 in 1971 that would make it $2.80

Gas would have had to been around $.75 for it to be right around $4.20.

Bush took the lowest gas prices we had in a very long time from clinton, and turned them into the highest in history (yes even higher than under Obama) When the people asked for relief Clinton released the oil reserves, when the american people were in pain Obama released the oil reserves, when the people asked for help from Bush, he and his big oil cronies just laughed all the way to the bank and got off to the tears of the pain on the american people.
Exxon mobil and the other big oil companies were making record profits quarter after quarter after quarter once they usurped the oil fields in Iraq. Did big oil and the republicans "spread the love" and lower the prices for the american people? Hell no! they raised them.

If it was $2.00 in 2002 it would have to be $2.52 in 2012 for it to be inline.

Good point.
For all the Republicans care about the poor, the poor could be pushed off from cliffs.
