Yes, definitely she made a stupid mistake going to her friend's house to help settle down a chimp out of control, and wasn't she a veterinarian who really should have known better? This was her fault and her friend's fault.

Frivilous lawsuits and those who attempt to use them for financial gain are a waste of oxygen.

She's not gonna win the money, so it's no big deal.

That said, she's endured something that i wouldn't wish on my worse enemy. So i'm not going to cast aspersions on her.

Her friend had few assets to take. She is going after real money. If all else fails drag someone else in to a lawsuit with more money.

Default Charla Nash, woman mauled by Chimpanzee, starts process to sue Connecticut for 150 million

If only Connecticut didn't have an assault rifle ban, then armed heroes could have swooped in and dumped hundreds of rounds into Mz. Nash before she filed the lawsuit...

But this is America, where dreams of fortune and glory are only a spilled cup of hot coffee in a drive-through, pull of a slot machine handle or freak attack from crazed pet chimpanzee away.

She'll probably settle with the state for millions just for filing the paperwork.

Charla Nash is simply a MORON. Only idiots keep and/or deal with animals they can't handle.

Everything about this story and the people involved screams stupidity. I know people ( some with and others without permits) that keep large exotic animals ( big cats and wolves) that can handle their animals.

These 2 idiots were clueless and only have themselves to blame.

Strange story, ironic that it broke the same day that a famous monkey died.

Really !!!
What a freakin' moron. What could she have possibly have done with an ape who was several times stronger than her?

Her friend also had a few screws loose. It should be fairly obvious why chimps aren't kept as pets in Africa. These 2 must have watched 1 too many Tarzan movies while smoking weed.
