63 percent of voters back Obama birth control policy: poll

By David Morgan
WASHINGTON | Thu Mar 1, 2012 11:10am EST
Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Nearly two-thirds of Americans favor President Barack Obama's policy requiring birth control coverage for female employees, including clear majorities of Roman Catholic, Protestant evangelical and independent voters, a poll showed on Thursday.
So much for "Obama's war on religion will cost him ALOT of votes".

The argument about violating the 1st amendment applies to both sides. When Obama originally said all employers except churches that violated the 1st amendment by exempting them. He should have stuck with it and said all of them.

On the other side isn't passing a mandate that gives religious based entities the right to back out a law made to favor religious groups hence a violation of the 1st amendment?

Stop a violation against the 1st amendment by violating the 1st amendment again? Am I missing something?
