Yeah, but when one is so blatantly wrong, and "Changing your slogan" for a new campaign ='s "crapping your pants scared", then the rest of the article is subject to skepticism.
U.S oil production went UP under Obama. It did it as a result of policies put in BEFORE Obama's term, but yeah, let's give him the credit. It would be really cool if it worked like that ... like he had a magic button to "Just make some oil facilities that take years to build."
Those "reasons to be scared" looked like quotes from a tea partier. Obama's not scared. If the Republicans keep the same whack jobs for candidates, there's nothing to be scared of. Rommney is a ""rich guy" who rubs people's face in it. Santorum's a religious nut, who would represent us on the world stage. He's already lampooned in Europe.

Credit for what?
The moratorium in the gulf that is still crippling production? The moratorium in Alaska and other offshore areas? The drastic drop in leasing permits throughout the nation?
You are right though, the policies put in place BEFORE he came into office are responsible for the increase, along with all that ND oil on PRIVATE land that obama can't cut off.
Thats just politics. That logic could apply to anyone running for reelection although I do think the love affair is mostly over and he will not be able to reuse any worn out slogans.

The credit in the article. The article states that people are suffering from a lack of oil and coal. Oil production went up under Obama. The article insinuates people are hungering for oil because under Obama, there is less of it. But there's more of it than before he started..... Should we give him credit for making more oil for America... no... but some will. (Including Obama....)
The people want more than a record amount. They require SUPER RECORD amounts of oil/coal to not be suffering, according to the Tea Party author.
"Obama touts green energy, but he has not had a single successful example where his policy has worked, and despite the Truth Teams, Obama has wasted billions on "green" energy while people are suffering from a lack of "black" energy -- oil and coal.
Obama is changing his slogan. Realizing that "Yes We Can" has turned into "Well, I Thought We Could," and that "hope and change"............ Has turned into give me four more years so I can continue to divide and destroy America.

Refined oil is down. There is a difference. Refineries have closed down do to low profit margins, early spring maintenance due to lack of demand, and accidents. http://www.eia.gov/analysis/petroleu...neprodmkts.pdf
US Refinery Status: BP Shuts Cherry Point Refinery Until April - WSJ.com (http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20120301-710087.html - broken link)
If supply was up for refined oil, as you are claiming, then prices would be falling, not rising
