The piling on of the media!! NONE OF THAT HAPPENED WITH MAHER!!

Even if Limbaugh kept all his sponsors, the media would have killed him!!! No womens groups ....no Chris Mathews....no Soladad were defending Palin!!!

It's different and you guys know it!

This is a first.

Are you claiming Palin is indefensible?

HAHAHA and you and others don't deflect on Maher or Letterman etc. I believe you tell us their comedian's, is this right??? While the left post their political views of these people and want us to listen carefully.

When will the left take responsibly for what the people they watch for entertainment say???

Yup. The FCC has always regulated things like speech, sex, bloody violence and nudity on the public's airwaves. Nothing new about this- the FCC was created in radio's earliest days, because the airwaves belong to the public.

But the FCC didn't interfere in Limbaugh's comments. While you can't say the F word, or any of the infamous list, there is some leeway in using some of the common cursing and phrases that were once banned.

Radio is regulated a bit tighter than TV in the language permitted, and TV is, of course, more regulated in the images that are permitted. The regulation restrictions tend to bend one way or another to meet the times. Back in the 70's, viewers could see bare female breasts, nipples and all, on some shows or series, but there were still restrictions. These days, fagedabbad it- no naked boobies these days unless they are displayed on dead people.

Which is more significant--being an 'honorary member' of a cong. caucus, or donating $1 million to a campaign?

Honorary member. Super-pacs can't communicate with the candidates.

Half an hour into this thread and I see no one on the left has an answer.
They flood the Rush threads and there's more threads about Rush than anything else. Maybe, their just busy bashing Rush and will get to you later.

Don't you mean righties? Oh wait, BOTH sides of the political spectrum do that... welcome to being human.

P.S. Stating one's opposition or anger over somebody's words isn't "suppressing free speech," it's called voicing your opinions. Do you even know the (legal) meaning of free speech?

It's because liberals are just as hypocritical as conservatives.

The real question is, why such a drastic disparity in the reaction to Limbaugh vs. the reaction to Maher. The Limbaugh story was covered OJ style; there was even a story about it in a couple local newspapers that I saw this morning. The crude comments by Maher were not covered at all; only those who watched his show would have known about them. The answer is that the left still owns the MSM, other than Fox News, IBD, and the WSJ. There's really not a whole lot Republicans can do about that, no matter how much "balls" they have or don't have.
Oh puuulease... do you rely on the media for all of your knowledge and opinions? If not, why don't YOU make a big stink over Bill Maher if he upsets you so much? Judging by the number of rightie-started threads over him on C-D, I'm guessing he already has his share of public and vocal opposition. Thus, the hate seems pretty equal to me!

I've seen a few people say Rush was wrong and he was he should not stoop to the level of Maher and others. Keep it about polictics and stay away from the name calling.
