I can't imagine there are many who have a problem with this sentence. I believe, even if you are young, if you do something this horrific, vile, and evil you don't deserve to ever live in society.

I'm not a fan of the "hate crime" notion as its used often for political purposes and really overused and abused. However, I have no sympathy or objection in this case

White Mississippi teen gets life sentence in black man's death - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/white-mississippi-teen-gets-life-sentence-black-mans-232536717.html - broken link)

Its unimaginable how people can be this hateful and evil, especially as a teen.

Young and stupid and probably drunk at the time. He will pay for this the rest of his life, as well he should.

I think it's a bit much, personally.

Good. Give him the chair. His behavior is a repeat offense. Young and drunk is not an excuse for 'right and wrong'.

I honestly think he should've received the death penalty. This was a truly horrible and hateful murder.

Not an excuse--just an explanation. I did some really dumb things when I was "young and stupid". Fortunately, killing somebody wasn't one of them.

Anyone who teaches and promotes racism on either side is just as guilty as this guy. He was taught to hate and many others molded his mindset.

Anyone who teaches hate to any person regardless if it is hate of race, sexual orientation , religion or beliefs are guilty.

Good! He may be young, but he is still old enough to know better! I was a teenager once. I did stupid things. Killing someone wasn't one of them. I agree with Oildog. Give him the chair. You kill in cold blood... eye for an eye.
