Obama’s War On Women: No Health Care For You!
President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services has withdrawn $30 million worth of funding from a Texas Medicaid program that provides health care services for low-income women.

It did so because Texas recently passed a law that said its Women’s Health Program could not disperse funds to abortion and contraception providers such as Planned Parenthood.

…
WHP provides health services to 130,000 low-income women. Of the more than 1,000 certified WHP providers across the state, the Texas law excludes fewer than 100 Planned Parenthood providers. Yet the Obama administration is willing to cut off all the other providers and all the women who receive health care through them in pursuit of its ideological agenda.

So is he interested in women’s health or controlling states via blackmail?

Good for them, it is the only way they are going to force the RWNJs cutting funds to women in the State, get back to rational thinking and th money will return.
Oh where were you when Perry was cutting healthcare funding for the poor in the state of Texas, oh wait he is a Repugs, never mind.

Tired re-post, which was debunked a couple of weeks ago.

The leaders don't believe in public funding of abortion.

If you read the article, it states...
Texas considers Planned Parenthood, which performs 300,000 abortions a year, a poor allocation of public funds intended to promote women's health, noting they cannot treat breast cancer and do not have a single mammogram machine in the entire state of Texas.
So let's not be deceived here about Planned Parenthood and women's health.

But where's the compromise that the President speaks of? Especially in the name of women's health?

It's one thing to act as a leader whether you agree or not.

But it's hypocritical to beat up the GOP for a fake war on women, while at the same time pulling funds from women because he doesn't like what a governor did. If he wants to hit back, leave the women out of it. To me, the women are like pawns on a chess board to him - move them around in order to trap a more valuable chess piece.

So it's good to deprive disadvantaged Texan women of millions of healthcare dollars in every other medical service provider, just to ensure that Planned Parenthood gets its share of the money.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what they think. Cut off your nose to spite your face is their principle pillar that they constantly stand on.

And just to be clear - I'm OK with as much federal defunding as possible.

I am in favor of all Americans making more money for themselves and donating via charity to these types of low income women's health groups. The money would be used much more efficiently.

Any de-funding would be in accord with law in force during the 8-year Bush administration. If the law was wrong then why didn't the Republications change it when they were in power?
